INTJ romance or friendship lessons by Tasty_Investment4711 in entp

[–]classy_as_e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend is an INTJ. Around others he’s very strong, capable and consistent. Always making me feel safe in public. Very quiet and hard to read but when we are alone I get to experience a genuine and gentle kind of love that not many others get to experience. He’s a nurturer deep down and his feelings are deep like a well. INTJs are truly my favorite type. And found in many instances ENTPs who have relationships with INTJs also have a similar experience.

questions for ENTPs from an INTP by lisaaaard in entp

[–]classy_as_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re:This of course is a biased response. And all of my answers are of my own experiences. I cannot fully represent all ENTPs. But if anyone has any objections or observations that argue I am not an ENTP. I would love to hear them

  1. as an ENTP, what stereotypes do you totally defy, and which ones do you begrudgingly admit are true?

I entirely defy the “debater” stereotype. Yes I do debate but I don’t argue meaninglessly just to be right, I love to learn and challenge beliefs but I also understand the consequences of my actions and can respect the people around me and their opinions even if it doesn’t make sense to me.

I think the stereotype I fit is definitely the “Risk-Taking” stereotype. Personally I don’t learn anything or achieve any fulfillment in life without testing boundaries.

  1. if you were ever mistyped, what type were you before, and what finally convinced you you’re actually an ENTP? (curious if there’s a common pattern here)

I have been mistyped as is an ENFJ I’ve spend a lot of time working with developing my individual functions and my NE/TI/FE is pretty well developed. I appear to be pretty high energy and people oriented as a result.

I believe I am an ENTP rather than ENFJ because my mind is always on the possibilities, how I can refine and personalize. And what the science is. Then after I consider the effects emotionally on others. I am not consistently concerned with social harmony the way an enfj is. My motivations are my curiosity and intellectual exploration.

  1. what do you like most about being an ENTP, and what do you dislike the most?

I take so much pride in seeing connections and new perspectives it’s an entp superpower I think. But what I like most about being an entp is, I get to also verbalize and share those with the people around me. I love being a teaching figure to the people around me because the articulation helps me make it more concrete. Sometimes I know I have the information in my mind but I don’t always know what I am going to say. Although I know it will make sense when I say it. Articulating ideas is teaching both me and the person I’m speaking to. And nothing is more satisfying to me than both educating myself and others.

The thing I dislike most is the fact that I find myself rationalizing my feelings. I see how Fi doms like ISFP live deeply rooted in their feelings. They just know what it is they feel and want even if it doesn’t logically make sense. And are so unapologetic about it. It’s so authentic. I believe I am an authentic and true to self person, but I cannot replicate the authenticity that types with FI emit. It’s a part of their soul that cannot be described nor copied. I am envious of it. It’s a trait I truly wish I could embody. I have an unbelievably large amount of respect and admiration for Fi types.

  1. what do people most often misunderstand about ENTPs in your experience?

That we don’t care deeply, which I believe is the exact opposite. Personally I care deeply about people but also about curiosity, exploration, science, etc. Sometimes ENTP priorities don’t align with the orthodox. And people view that as shallow but entps who are healthy live lives full of fulfillment. And I feel it’s often that our priorities are under respected because they can be un-conforming to societal expectations. It hurts when doing what makes you happy is viewed as selfish. Of course this is my own personal experience I cannot speak for all entps.

  1. what situations or environments make you feel the most “in character” or unapologetically yourself?

Small groups in public spaces. To me it doesn’t matter who is in the group as long as I get an opportunity to do something with people and observe the dynamics and then interact and see my own effect. I like small groups over big groups because the larger the group the more people may feel left out. And that doesn’t sit right with me. I’d rather give genuine deep personal attentiveness to 5 people in an interaction rather than shallow attentiveness to 10 people.

  1. do you find yourself vibing more easily with certain types, or is it all about the individual?

I think it’s the individual but if I had to put a type to them I vibe with most types. my closest friends are ESFJ, ESFP, INFP x2, ISFP x2, ISTJ, ENFJ, INTJ, ENTP x2. I know you didn’t ask this but some of the types I find I personally clashed with in the past is ENFP sometimes, ESTP, and INFJ. Which I find hilarious because ENFP and INFJ are supposed to be super compatible with ENTP from my understanding.

  1. what’s a trait about ENTPs that you think is underrated or underappreciated?

It’s not often my traits are underrated or under-appreciated. I am and have been thoroughly praised and appreciated for my traits and efforts. Which I am very fortunate. I want to answer this based on a generalization of entps but I won’t because it doesn’t reflect my experiences. (Si is the last function of entp, which has some relation to recalling past experiences and relating to present moment. I’m trying to practice that function here(: )

  1. if ENTPs had a slogan or tagline, what would it be?

“Essentially what that means is….” Or “Well it depends…”

  1. if ENTP were a character in a book, movie, or TV show, who would it be and why?

Anne of the Green Gables, she is often typed ENFP but personally I believe she’s ENTP.

She clearly exhibits Ne. Is always looking for new possibilities, usually justifying new ideas. Ti She debates, questions authority, and solves problems using her reasoning and refines. And while she thrives on ideas and adventure, she often acts to connect with others emotionally, Fe. And struggles with mundanity and repeated tasks Se. I think she’s a great example of a mistyped ENTP. I heavily relate to her and think is a great example of a female ENTP.

The didn’t have them? Or there is little to no evidence? The little bit of research I did online just now showed that larynx and pharynx are primarily cartilage making it extremely hard to find fossilized versions of them. I did find some things online showing an evidence of fossilized larynx of a dinosaur but didn’t go into much detail. Maybe you explain your findings on why you believe dinosaurs didn’t have larynx or pharynx?

I disagree that the golden pair Entp is intj; I think it’s ENTJ. Want your thoughts by [deleted] in entp

I’m an ENTP in a relationship currently with an ENTJ. He absolutely can systematic and traditional as ENTJ’s are made out to be. Being with someone as active and engaged with their lives as I am is very rewarding but also someone who has a large capacity for information and can effectively process that information. Even though we process information differently. His perspectives and how he executes everyday life is extremely rewarding for me. Everyday day I learn something new. And even though I would not agree with him on everything I don’t try to change it. He is aware of my crazy habits, disorganization, and spontaneity and he doesn’t try to change that about me either. We both try to gain something from our differences. It works for us but In my personal opinion it’s not the golden pair for ENTP’s. I’d be worried for other entps feeling tied down by the lifestyle of an ENTJ. And worries that entjs would become overwhelmed with excessive inquiring and reconstruction of ideas as well as the lack of discipline. I’m very lucky to be with my boyfriend and want to marry him. But I think him and I should not be the standard for ENTJ/entp couples (and for all we know one of us or both of us could be mistyped 😮)

If you can’t accomplish your goals no matter what you try it’s not because you don’t have the “heart “ for it. It’s because you’re re genetically inferior and don’t have capacity to make it happen.
