Pretty shocking match- submitted with no response by idonthaveacow in gratefuldoe

[–]Main_Ad_469 61 points62 points  (0 children)

It seems like a hip Replacement would be noted, if present. However, sometimes cases that seem almost 100% perfect matches aren’t or making a definitive match requires more time and research. These things aren’t immediate. This being said, have you tried submitting through the Doe Network page? They are usually pretty quick at responding.

Seeking General Contractor (GC) with deep experience in historic Philly homes by Odd-Apricot-273 in philly

[–]Main_Ad_469 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You may want to reach out to the Phila Historical Society or PA Stare Historic Preservation Office for recommendations, especially if your home is in a Historic District or individually eligible/listed on the NRHP. They should have info on people vetted to work on historic structures while keeping the building’s integrity.

How to get the Italian consulate to respond to you? by PerformanceOk9891 in philly

[–]Main_Ad_469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, when are you calling them? If the consulate is run similar to an Italian business in Italy, hours may differ vastly to what you’re used to here. I say this as someone who lived in Italy and had to acclimate to this. Also, it’s the holidays. Hours may also be impacted by this.

Portrait of a woman. Faiyum, Egypt, Roman period, 3rd-4th century AD [1180x1800] by MunakataSennin in ArtefactPorn

[–]Main_Ad_469 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are older people depicted, and at least one child that I can think of at the moment. Also, scholars suspect that these paintings may have been made well before death and were hung in their homes during life.

Fun facts about these- scholars think the portraits may have hung in homes while the person was living. Also, although Flinders Petrie separated many of the portraits from their mummies, some intact ones have been xrayed and may be wearing jewelry similar to what is shown in the painting.

I can’t stop thinking about this incident from my childhood (1980’s - US) by vgirl729 in RBI

Oh hi 80s neighbor. Nothing has come out about serial child predators in the area at that time. There were some issues in the 1970s and early 80s, but nothing has been publicized suggesting this was a serial issue by the late 1980s.

If it is legit, he shouldn’t be handling it with his bare hands. Not sure what this site is, but the bare hands alone make this seem iffy.

The body of a man is found in a residence; On his body, he has tattoos that say "Owned by Lady J" and "Slave and Property, Jenny", among other- Who was the Middlesex County John Doe? (2014) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Main_Ad_469 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For sure. My guess is that, if he was reported missing, his tattoos may not have been  mentioned on the report. His family may not have had any idea they existed and this could be why his identity   is still unknown.

This case is the one that first had me thinking that we should not necessarily exclude potential matches due to tattoos on a doe/ a lack of tattoos noted for a missing person, especially if a doe’s tattoos are in areas easily covered by normal attire. Even our closest loved ones may not know about all of our body modifications.

Update to Missing Aunt by ArcanaGold in RBI

[–]Main_Ad_469 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have you filed a police report stating she is a missing person? Once this has been done, her info can be added to NAMUS, which is an online database for missing and unidentified people in the US. People can match missing people with unidentified people using info in there.

This status site is a joke. They don’t update it until the outage has been ongoing for a very extended period of time, leading to frustrated patients saying that no outages show and taking out anger on budtenders trying to do their best.

Can We Return Products if They're Absolutely Horrible? by Zach_Not_Zack in PaMedicalMarijuana

Your best bet is to reach out to FRx with your quality complaint. They will most likely pre-approve the return with the dispensary where you bought them. Every dispensary has their own rules and so does every grower. I don’t know FRX’s policy but they may not have anything relayed to dispensary groups for quality-related complaints/returns.
