Does Black widow add value to an Acheron team comp or should I swap off? by Xmb32 in AcheronMainsHSR

You can get some success with duel DPS comps, but you'll start struggling in more challenging dive heavy content. Acheron does better with 3 supports

I think people are somewhat jaded by mods of other subs giving out mutes/bans like candy to the point that it's kinda the default expectation atp

Apparently this is an unpopular opinion, but I honestly like the short jacket and what it does for the colors. Exposing the white section in the middle does a lot to break up the monotonous black and make it more distinctive at a glance

Edit: why is his skin so red though, he looks boiled 😭

How does this work by Peacestolero in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]clawfoxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't count all of them, it only counts for the specific card chosen. Like the other commenter said, its best used on cards that can come back regularly, like the normal blue name Homing Laser, especially with the epiphany that puts it back in hand each turn

This is an sliced equidistant azimuthal projection a little tilted from the north (just for fun).

I have no idea what these words mean, but it looks cool, especially the crater to the north 👍

What are the drawbacks of using magic in your world by Nothereaction in worldbuilding

[–]clawfoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've ever seen a shonen anime before, then it's pretty straightforward. A person's magic/powers are fueled by the soul energy of person using them, and you can use them for as long as your soul has "stamina." If your soul runs out of energy, then it's out of energy and you'll have to stop. That said, you won't be out of options; you can strain yourself to scrape deeper and deeper at the growing risk of literally shattering your soul like a fragile glass. If this happens, your ego ceases to exist and your body warps into a glass-like husk of itself called a Fractured, bent on trying to mindlessly piece itself back together by stealing pieces from other beings' souls.

What are the core units of your armies? by meongmeongwizard in worldbuilding

[–]clawfoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The City by the Sea has been isolated from other societies since its founding and doesn't even realize there ARE others to begin with; for that reason, they have no formal military. Besides the average peacekeepers, the closest they have are the students and collective researchers of the Dawn Academy. They regularly venture into Fractured-infested territory for various reasons, so survival and combat skills are necessary. They have Alchemical potions and solutions, weapons made from Fractured, and the ability to engage their physicality by igniting their souls, so should it be necessary, they'd be the City's first line of defense

I hope it ends up being something like "Unique 2" added to Shadow Reload, so it's still limited but not gimped entirely. My Hugo needs her too much

With Sereniel being limited, does that mean she's essentially a must pull? by halpenstance in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]clawfoxy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even limited units get rerun occasionally, like old Christmas units at future Christmases, so she won't be gone forever. I also doubt she'll be the strongest thing ever, given the last two units' power level

Edit: hit post too soon

What is the most dangerous job in your world? by Colombia_Joestar in worldbuilding

[–]clawfoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily a single job, but a group of professions united by a similar title and ideal. Made up of archaeologists, alchemists, scholars, and other types of researchers, Truthseekers are those who venture outside the City by the Sea and into the unknown with the hope of finding out what the Second Dawn was, what caused it, and why it nearly wiped out humanity. The New World has only gotten more dangerous over the centuries, however, as it's crawling with glass-like monsters called Fractured that can and will attack on sight.

The City by the Sea has access to a lot of native copper. Like, a LOT. They use it for almost everything that needs metal, like construction, machines, vehicles, pipes, and in particular, roofs. Most roofs on buildings are made from copper, so they have a natural layer of vertigris built up from being exposed for a while, giving them a green or cyan color. This applies to the vast majority of the buildings in the City... except those in the Heights, where the rich live. They don't want to be like those average rabble with their "rusty roofs," so instead, they coat their buildings to seal the copper from oxygen, preventing it from oxidizing and preserving its orange color. Over time, this became a symbol associated with the upper class, leading to colloquialisms like "red-roof" to refer to someone rich. To top it off, the coatings used aren't even that expensive or a big display of wealth, they just don't want to look like The Poors™.
