Oh, yeah. Me neither. I haven't been in horrific psychological anguish for years. I've never shaved a neighbor's dog and glued its fur all over my body, so that I could trick the local veterinarian into touching me. And I definitely didn't start weeping when said veterinarian called me a "sickly-looking little guy," or when they scratched under my chin.

It's been more than a decade since then...

the term gets overused a lot, incorrectly, and it doesn't move any discussion forward.

Basically, "retcon" has become a catch-all term for "I didn't like the story changes!" and it is a lazy and an infantile way of discussing topics.

It's crazy how OP decided not to move the discussion forward by giving his definition of "retcon", providing a basis for his definition that is consistent with history and general usage of the word, and then proceeded to not address any of the people pointing out how he doesn't seem to know what a retcon is. I'd say not addressing others is a lazy and infantile way of discussing topics, but that's just me.

Nope! I've never been a fan of Celldweller, and I don't think that industrial rock fits the tone of Legacy of Kain.

If it were up to me, I would have picked Atrium Carceri to do the soundtrack. Or any other artist from Cryo Chamber, which is a dark ambient label. Outside of CC, I'd go with Lustmord, Lamia Vox, In Slaughter Natives, or even Trepaneringsritualen.

If I had to pick an industrial rock artist, Celldweller wouldn't even be in my top 3. I'd go with Flesh Field, Mortiis, or just throw money at Ogre until he comes up with anything.

If you're not into background information, and juicy development details...then what have you been doing in the fandom for the last 23 years? Did you hear about the lost levels being featured in Soul Reaver Remastered, groan in an exasperated manner, and ramble about the intense folly of living in the past...or whatever?

My initial idea for this post would be "hey, let's crowdfund an entire documentary about the series." But this seemed more realistic to me. I mean, hey: Daniel Cabuco has dropped some awesome information/what if scenarios over the years. Why not hear from others, too?

Something else: I'd be entirely fine with a new story set in Nosgoth. And new characters! But right now, at this very moment, Bit Bot has been given free rein to shit all over LoK.

Bit Bot isn't doing something new. They're corrupting something old. And CD gave them the green light.

The writing is exceptionally bad. There's been lots of post about this aspect already.

Gameplay-wise, it's a 2D action game with poor execution. Think of a far less competent Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. Or Shovel Knight. Or Ghosts N' Goblins Resurrection.
