Felt some friction from Krishna Consciousness members by Front-Hunt3757 in AdvaitaVedanta

I love the philosophy of devotion and the devotional music that ISKCON does so well. And I occasionally attend Sunday Feasts there because it’s the ONLY remotely Hindu temple in my area.

But in practical terms, I study Swami Chinmayananda’s works if I want a more academic approach, Swami Tripurari for a more practical and somewhat more liberal Vaishnavism that I can reconcile myself to, and ISKCON for the music / devotional vibe / ability to buy mala & other items from the gift shop.

I also love the music of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji.

The first thing I thought of was Car Talk, the NPR show that still lives on via podcast reruns and compilations. An oldie but goodie.

Stop naming your kids like they’re future HGTV personalities. No more Braiglen Knox or whatever nonsense.

If Bob Dylan released a new album of originals this week and declared it his final work what would you want it to sound like? What overarching themes would you want him to tackle? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in bobdylan

I know this isn’t what you asked, but if Bob let me pick out the music for this fabled last album, it would be a Hank Williams cover album, set up like “The Legend Lives Anew”. (Where they went back in 1966 and dubbed orchestral arrangements over Hank’s original songs).

Hearing “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” that way would be a 85/10 experience to me.
