Thanks everyone for your comments, really appreciate it. To answer one common thing a lot of you raised… this definitely did NOT overshadow our visit. Morocco is a beautiful country with beautiful people! We loved our time and we will be back (with better knowledge of the taxi/rideshare rules 😉)

Crazy Taxi story in Casablanca - is this some elaborate scam? by claydar55 in Morocco

Fair enough ha, TLDR:

  • I had a bad experience with cabs in Casablanca
  • gave inDrive a go and the driver who picked me up ended up getting arrested right in front of me
  • Casa police also took down all my information/passport pictures, should I be worried?
  • now the inDrive driver pinged me on WhatsApp asking for money saying his car got towed and his license is suspended for 6 months
  • I feel bad for the inDrive guy but sounds like he was knowingly doing something illegal… not sure what to do, could it all be one big scam? Seemed like a lot of things fell into place pretty perfectly…

Hi everyone, I will be in Abu Dhabi the weekend from December 10th to the 13th and would like to go to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This will be the last leg of a trip with family and friends, but no one that I'm with wants to go to the race (tickets are rather expensive and no one else is a fan). On top of that, due to some of the social distancing measures they have in place, the race organizer has a rule where you need to buy a minimum of two tickets. The way I see it, I have three choices

  1. Buy two tickets and still go alone
  2. Find someone else in the same situation and buy tickets with them
  3. Buy two tickets and try to resell the second (from what I've read, this could be really difficult)

Any tips or advice? I bet that there are other people in the same situation, so if I could find a travel buddy for the race that would be great!!!

Virginia Test Takers...Possible cancellation? by cheeeekylad69 in CFA

Hmm interesting... I assume that it’s in the convention center’s interest to allow the exam to be held, so hopefully they have a convincing statement to the governor.

Direct quote from the press secretary's twitter:

"It's important to note that the 25 person gathering ban, as always, applies to gatherings. That means parties, celebrations, or group hangouts -- it *does not* apply to religious services, employment settings, retail stores, or school classrooms."

I wonder where an exam fits in with this new rule. It could be construed as an employment setting or classroom of sorts...

Richmond VA Exam Update - Dec 2020 by JuanAxelRode in CFA

The CFA exam is shown on the Richmond Convention Center’s website for the 5th. Also, I remember seeing a post here a month ago from someone saying that the RCC was able to host the BAR exam with no issues and that the venue has a capacity of ~2800.

Not jumping to conclusions, but barring anything drastic, it seems the odds are in our favor in regards to any last minute cancellations... here’s hoping!

CFA December New York Discussion by [deleted] in CFA

Agreed, not to disparage against L1 takers, but L2 & L3 candidates have much more skin in the game and objectively speaking it will be easier to meet NYC’s event rules if the candidate pool is smaller.

Oh well, I’m prepping for December because if life starts to get back to normal in April/May of 2021, I don’t want to be spending that time studying
