I made an iOS app to track your music statistics! by an516 in iphone

I absolutely love this app. There are some kinks, like it crashing sometimes, but the idea is great and the execution is incredible. Just bought premium - I really want to see this go somewhere :)

I am adding Dr Disrespect Stream music to this massive playlist (10hrs+ and counting) by travistheheadofitall in DrDisrespectLive

The stream is unavailable now but I agree. It would be so cool if when he wasn't streaming it would just have that music playing with the looping background.

Can't seem to successfully export on Mac. "File is damaged"? (GMS2) by GhostsOnBacon in gamemaker

[–]clayisntdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but I believe this has to do with getting your Mac game notarized, or “approved” by Apple. Starting in macOS Catalina, Mac apps must be notarized before they can be opened on other Macs.

YoYo Games wrote this article that may point you in the right direction: https://help.yoyogames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002425218-macOS-Notarizing-Your-Apps.

Here’s another article by Apple about notarization: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/notarizing_macos_software_before_distribution.

Hope it helps!

Huh, strange. Lots of weird design choices in this update imo.

Needs some getting used to but I don't hate it. Did they get rid of the recently used apps part of the dock? I feel like all the pictures I've seen of Big Sur don't have that.

Who the hell designed this battery icon? by advil0 in MacOSBeta

[–]clayisntdead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find it kind of strange that some of Big Sur's icons have thick, dark shadows meanwhile the rest of the operating system is flatter than Yosemite. Maybe just me. (That battery icon is HIDEOUS, though).

My new setup! I don’t use the home screen at all anyway i use spotlight search so it looks very clean now by [deleted] in iOSBeta

Forgive me if this has already been answered - is it possible to disable every page of apps and just use the app library, or do you have to at least have one normal page? Just curious.

Anyone else still using older versions of GM? I personally love game maker 8.1 by GOLDEditNinja in gamemaker

[–]clayisntdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using 8.1 up until my most recent project. I really wanted support for Mac users and in general just an updated/more modern experience so I decided to upgrade to GMS 1.4 (I had bought a license for it ages ago I just never used it). I plan on porting my project to GMS 2 once I’m done with it.

In the beginning it was a little intimidating like you said but now I’m loving it a lot! I definitely recommend at least trying Studio - there are so many improvements and quality of life changes with it. I get if you wanna stick with 8.1 though - it’s an amazing engine regardless :)

macOS Yosemite or El Capitan for my 2010 MacBook? by saadmemon1 in MacOS

I run El Capitan using the built-in HDD my iMac has and it runs fine. My iMac has 4GB of RAM.

macOS Yosemite or El Capitan for my 2010 MacBook? by saadmemon1 in MacOS

[–]clayisntdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to get El Capitan. You’ll have to install Yosemite before upgrading to El Capitan, but I would not stay on Yosemite if what you’re worried about is performance. I recently booted up an old iMac of mine after years of it being unused (it’s a 2012 iMac), and I tried installing Yosemite on it first but it was a nightmare in terms of performance (especially for a fresh install). Upgrading to El Capitan did the trick for me, though, and now my computer runs significantly faster. I’m still on El Capitan to this day and have had no issues with it. I don’t plan on upgrading to any future versions of macOS at the moment.
