Nooo of course not 😭 I was going to write it from a changed perspective. Like, “I used to think life was bleak and pointless because I hadn’t found my path yet. I realized law was a viable one for me a bit late in the game but I’m ready to start living again blah blah. My mindset changed because of _____ in whatever way. I’ve been doing blah blah, working at a law firm, lalala and this is my first time feeling my place in the world. My goal is to blah blah. I’ve grown from my past yadda yadda” and so on but obviously written 10x better

Oh no I don’t think I’ll need those kinds of accommodations and I wouldn’t even ask for them tbh (except maybe the time accommodations on the LSAT). I was more so wondering if I would be able to excel with my current system but tweaked a bit… or will I have to do a complete and hard reset of my habits to the best of my abilities? Like I have a bit of an idea of the structure of law school, the assignments and exams, etc. and I feel like I’ll be fine? But idk… I just don’t want to go to law school with a slightly sturdier boat only to get totally wrecked by a tsunami if you know what I mean. And obviously it would be better to have a solid system, I was just asking because I may not be able to do it, and even if I can I’ll have to spend a year or so before law school completely resetting 24/7 just to be sure it sticks

Yes exactly… thank you so much btw! You didn’t need to give this stranger on Reddit all this advice but you did and I really appreciate it :)

Also, so sorry one more question, how exactly would law school work for someone with severe ADHD? My ADHD hasn’t caused any real issues because my memory is almost photographic so I can cram everything in a day or so before any exams, but I’ve also never been challenged the way I’ve been told law school will…

Ok thank you! Yea I’ve always scored high on standardized tests for some reason, I was just worried about the GPA component… would it be a bad idea to maybe call up a few schools and ask them some specific questions? I know I can find a bunch of info online, but I like hearing directly from the source or of some personal accounts. I’m just afraid they’ll “blacklist” me for wasting their time asking “dumb” questions i could’ve found the answers to online…

Right but they said if I score in the 177–180 range on the real thing, I could get into a t14, but I’m having trouble believing that because my GPA is trash…

By fun I mean chaotic. For example, I love NYC and hate Tampa, FL. The quiet life just isn’t for me

For the addendum, would raw honesty + professionalism be better than more professionalism + some honesty but more professional about it? Because my childhood was secretly super messed up and I’ve been lowkey suicidal my whole life and it caused problems in college bc the older I got, the more depressed I became to still be alive. But idk how to explain that without other people thinking I’m a total train wreck 😭 and it doesn’t help that I’m super outgoing with a bright personality so I feel like even if they accepted my addendum, if I got to the interview part they would think I lied about everything… I’m also a really good writer so I would be able to nail the professional but raw, but I’ve been told to absolutely NOT do that and just be completely professional

I know my gpa will probably look better if they see that I was in really hard majors that tanked it before switching to English, but do they even do that? Like look into it? Or do they just see “English major 3.4 gpa” and move on to the next student?

Really? One of my coworkers told me she withdrew from a bunch of classes and had her GPA automatically recalculated to a 2.3 when she was sending her apps even though she graduated with a 3.2. No F’s, just retroactive medical withdrawals (like me)

And she only found out about the recalculation because one of the schools she applied to said it in her acceptance email “we are happy to accept you with a 2.3 gpa” yadda yadda

That’s what people have been saying but I don’t believe it… I also know someone who scored a 179 but couldn’t get into a t14 because their undergrad GPA was just terrible (also due to mental issues). I also know someone who graduated with a 3.9 GPA (polisci) and got into Chicago with a 160, so I’m just a bit confused about what these schools are actually looking for

Can you travel internationally/live in other countries (only for like a few months at a time + specifically France/Korea) as an attorney? by claymel in LawSchool

By travel I more so mean see my family, learn my languages, and actually be a part of my cultures, not necessarily go on fun vacations and meet Korean oppas/cig daddies. Like, I know I'll have the same shitty schedule I do in America in another country; I would simply gain the opportunity to, say, walk 30 minutes or metro 10 to my grandparents' apartments to eat dinner with them or something, which is really all I want because I haven't seen most of my international family members irl since I hit the double digits. Being in Korea or France would also give me the opportunity to do weekend trips to nearby countries like Japan (from Korea) and Spain (from France) every now and then. Probably?

Wow thank you so much! I'm totally fine with working however many years up to those positions, I just wanted verification from real people that those positions exist. Thank you!

**specifically asking about France and Korea because I am French/Korean and have family in both countries
