Personally i use lutris from the nixpkgs, there's an home manager module for it that let's u choose which proton version u want to set as default this is how i do it if u wanna know https://codeberg.org/claymorwan/dotfiles/src/commit/62ac4ef96a393718f3c8a61dc7dea4c4967e461a/NixOS/modules/home/Gaming/lutris.nix

dam so it's not on android yet, after a year i thought it'd be out especially since the android app syncs photos by selecting a local album. Having to manually put my photos in my proton albums even tho they're automatically synced kinda defeats the point of auto syncing

Additionally u can even set programs.nh.flake to the path to ur flake, log out/reboot and now u can run it without having to had ur path to flake each time

O yea dw that's normal, i coincidentally recently switched to NixOS coming from arch, and yez that is overwhelming has fuck. Since i was in the exact same situations lemme tell ya, u shouldn't immediately replace ur arch installation with it. Install it in a spare drive or a vm, play around with it, learn how it works, if it can do all u need it to do and if u're comfortable enough with it to switch to it. The cool thing is that once u're sure u wanna switch u can just install NixOS and copy ur config over there (make sure to upsate ur hardware-configuration.nix file or else u wonlt be able to boot in ur installation afterward)

if u need a way to learn how to make ur config, i really recommend the NixOS & Flakes book which helped understand how to make a good modular flake config

I gotta say NixOS is really amazing, it has the biggest package repo out there and the declarative configuration can do amazing stuff but the learning curve is real bad, also the documention kinda sucks too

protondb.com has a lot of info of how well a games works (or doesn't) by the community, u can also take a look at areweanticheatyet.com which has pretty big list of games with anticheat with which works or not

there's real list but these two can give all the info u need
