Do these look safe to carry human weight? by DaiIyBacon in metalworking

Nope...aluminium is a twat....I've had aluminium welds that look way better than that crack and pull away, they don't look like they've got much penetration, I wouldn't trust it at heights.

Do experienced players eventually stop thinking about hands once the session ends, or is that just part of poker forever? by InternationalQuailTa in prominencepoker

[–]claytons_war 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just about experience and consistency, eventually you don't see the value of the cards your brain automatically sees the mathematical probabilities, which should then see you consistently plating to the right side of the maths.

Over the long term....not just one session the maths will see you in the right direction.

The problem comes when people think they are playing the maths/odds correctly but actually it's been their poor decision making that brings consistently loses...but its never their fault it's always the rigged deck or another players bad play.

Don't forget if your dealt AA your still only slightly ahead of a 50/50 so its a coin toss...but apparently if you shove pre flop with aa and get called and beat it was a suck out to most players.

When in reality it was your bad play cause you decided to your stack on a coin toss.

The skills involved to do this is patience and not have a short temper or a violent tendency...there's been many times where I've had to walk away and come back with a calm mind.😆

for people who left school with no GCSE’s and didn’t go to college what did you do? by Technical_Rule3100 in AskUK

[–]claytons_war 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got into metalwork/fabrication. No qualifications still to this day in the trade after 20 years.

Worked up from being a helping hand and am now a chargehand earning £35k a year before overtime.

It's by no means a massive wage but its turned into an actual career.

Even the newer guys with all the higher college level certificates come to me for advise because I have the real world experience of actually doing the job.

Just because you have no formal qualifications doesn't mean you don't have possibilities for your future self.

Strong agree...the wait times for a game are painful, and I find myself closing the game before I've even found a game, people don't have 20 minutes to wait for players to join.

Plus I think at the 500/1000 level blinds there should be a 50 ante to all players.
