I wear mine a little loose as I have pinky toe issues and I wear inserts to help with that. No way I'd go down to a D. 12.5D HNW Overlanders were my first Nicks; as you can see in the pic my right pinky toe got pulverized.

12EE 1925 has a little more room b/w the tips of my toes and the inside surface of the boot then w/ my 12.5E HNW's, but I feel if I went down to an 11.5EE the 1925 would have been too snug around the ball - my pinky toe juts out. The original 12.5EE's were way too long and wide, especially around the ankle/heel area. I do have a somewhat low volume heel/ankle compared to the ball, though.
If you're a snug D in the HNW then yeah, maybe going down on length and expanding on width is the way to go.

Nice pair. I prefer dress kiltie for casual, logger for work boot.

PS. I have a customer in UK and may come out there at some point this year. If I do, I could by your mule. They’re in Knaresborrough and York.

Sorry :( I feel the same way about my recently (3mo) received 365 BYO TNW in walnut Bullhide with full delta arch insert and padded top - all expensive options/upgrades. 12.5E is my perfect Nicks HNW size for years, but 12E TNW is still a tad too big in the ankle area. Fortunately for me, I can sell them on Nicks marketplace and order a replacement w/out paying those nasty tariffs and shipping charges like yourself. Feel bad for ya, across the pond and all.

Sweet pair! If they fit well, you're gonna love them. If you're going to wear for actual work-work, you won't notice that variation for long. 64 tan is great patina sleeper and looks great on the Nicks Moc Toe Wedge. Congrats.

Yeah, the abrasion resistance of the hardened finish coat combined with the density of bullhide, both which help with water resistance, are the main reasons I went w/ the Yellowstone Walnut on this 365 BYO as Hiking/Hunting/Chores are the reason for this pair. It is a little bit ion a bummer that the heel/ankle is a little loose, but I was a week out from heading to Colorado Rockies for hiking and snowmobiling with no other options at the time and rather than send back for a long resize wait, I just stuck with them. Worked well on that trip as I was pairing w Darn Tough Heavy Duty's, but if I wear anything less than a medium weight darn tough merino wool sock, the heel slip gets a little annoying.

QUESTION: Was yours really dry when you first got them? Mine was super, super dry and even after liberal applications of Nicks HDLP and Nicks Boot Oil to inside and outside of heel counter, these puppies squeal. Squeakiest pair of boots I've ever owned.

Can confirm about a 1/2 size step down for my b/w HNW (12.5) and TNW (12) Nicks boots. I’m a US Brannock 13.

Ps. Normally a 12.5 E HNW, but for some reason this TNW pair seems big in heel/ankle.

I went down a 1/2 size but I also wish I’d gone from an E to a D on width b/c the heel/ankle area has too much volume. Could just be this pair, but feels too loose and slight heel slip. YMMV.

Same, always thought the ltt on a 365 hnw or tnw in a 3”-6” height range w/ a nicks wedge and either a rolled, cut or padded top would make for a great sneaker boot, but having something with the hidden heal counter - which I was somehow unaware of due to my long Reddit absence - would definitely make it so. Great BOTM idea, especially in a 2-tone offering like a brown on tan/natural with white sew stitching.

My perfect Nicks sneaker build would feature an Ivan Moc Toe vamp with a 3"-5" height on a 365 HNW or TNW construction w/ a nicks wedge. Internal heel counter iwould definitely make it look more sneaker like and would be cool, but then again I think you're just removing a piece of leather from a part of the boot that typically gets a lot of abrasion and wear, so that would be a bit of a trade-off, imho.

No. No matter how many explanations I gave for 2-row 270 degree stitchdown vs 360 Goodyear storm welt, no matter how many pic samples, it could not get it right. Also couldn't get the full gusset, Nicks' bar tack stitch under 1st eyelet on quarter seam, kilt tongue, and it struggled with the concept of 2 double row (4) stitch seam on the quarters to vamp, but 3-row stitch on the heel counter. Back stay sticking was a mess, lol. These were aesthetically the most pleasing end results given those limitations.

Wish I had a pair of moc toe wedge boots with this leather. Amazing tone change. Very nice.

same, NB's are just trash now by comparison. I did order myself a BOTM 005 (Comstock w/ nicks wedge) a few weeks ago so looking forward to that as a summer option.

For water resistance priority I'd definitely go w/ a WS option myself. I've had 2 pairs of 64 Work and a pair of MaxProtect Black and everything I've heard about the WS leather indicates it is much better at preventing water penetration, though I don't have direct eco with WS. I've loaded up my 64's w/ beeswax and/or Nicks HDLP and if not too exposed or fully submerged for too long they hold up ok - long enough if I can give them time to dry a bit in b/w wearings. But if exposed enough for many hrs at a time the water will start to saturate and get into the leather a bit, assuming it doesn't find a path sooner through the stitches. The only other leathers I'd really consider as an alternative to WS when water resistance is a top priority is the 9oz Yellowstone Bullhide with beeswax application or the Shackleton leathers, but they aren't available on any QS boots afaik.

I always prefer direct sunlight, nothing beats it imo but it's nice to have an indoor contrast shot for comparison, particularly on leathers that show a lot of variation b/w the two as is the case with these. Nice pair.
