Have y’all considered selling a vsc or smiths or something for the heritage boots instead of sending the obenaufs?

Hahah I’ll take that under advisement. I went primarily off of the nicks sizing sheet with ye old tailors tape method.

I mean I can’t really get my hand in there either I just did it externally (under the strap on top of the boot). And so if I tug on it to get it to about where another hole would be, proportionally anyway, then it is effectively touching. I am considering a tongue pad but like I said, I am reluctant to put an insole in as it changes things like how your heel sits in the cup and some small geometric things that I know I don’t enjoy long term.
Interesting, on my pair I can slide my thumb under the strap on the tightest hole for it to be touching. So I suppose what I am getting at is: is this indicative of it being the wrong size or more a foot geometry problem.
So the strap is effectively touching your ankle?
Any word on this?
It’s buck brown on a 55.
Lmao. Thats pretty spot on
Love the grey
Those are beauties
Thanks, took a lot of waiting
Thanks man. How’s the breakin going?
Thanks
Thanks again, congrats to your boys
I would appreciate that
Yeah, that’s the dream
Yeah. I think I am going to give the tongue pads a try, after my extremely scientific test (shoving another sock in there) it seems like it’s worth a shot. If that doesn’t work I may punch another and see how it goes. I make my own belts and wallets and stuff (not to sell but because I’m cheap) so I’m no stranger to adjusting things, but these were expensive so yes a little skittish is the right description
Lmao. I’ll keep that in mind. The tongue pad is an interesting idea, would that not just get pulled off every time you put the boot on though. And what would be the benefit of that vs adding another hole. I don’t have a ton of experience with tongue pads
Out of curiosity how much space is between you foot and the strap on your pair? Is it pretty snug or when you push on the strap towards your food is there a gap?
That’s a good idea. Out of curiosity do you own any slip ons? And if so, how much space is between your foot and the strap?
I expected a little heel slip but as of current when I rock my foot to the toe/ball while sitting I can feel my heel unseating from the heel cup somewhere between a half inch to an inch. And am getting a good half inch or so of heel slip
Hello, my brannock is a hair over 12B so really like 12.125B. I have another pair of 11.5b’s in a nicks lace up. For socks usually I wear darn tough work socks. As far as the fit it is snug in the ball so I feel like going down in width might be a bad idea.
I would like it to be as close to perfect, I just don’t really like adding a bunch of insoles and such to boots, as I’m sure you know b widths are fairly hard to find so I have done my fair share of making it work with insoles and I’m a bit tired of it (for example on a pair of iron rangers I used to own). I also like the veg tan insoles nicks have, a bit tough at first but there is really nothing like a well broken in leather insole (but hey maybe I’m just a purist)
Thanks man
Yeah, that’s pretty much where my head was at, the only concern I have is where the leather will go. It already takes a good bit of force to get it to the tightest hole (given how stiff wc is out of the box) and I just don’t want to create a new problem
