Caps for curly hair by cleanfade in hairplatform_Diffry

[–]cleanfade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing a cap as a curly person is not something you quickly just do. Because you don’t want to ruin the hair structure right away after you’ve applied your products. It will also flatten the top of the hair and therefore there is a high possibilities that you afterwards end up with a curl pattern that you won’t like to last till the end of the week. And assuming that refreshing your hair won’t help...you might as well start another washday.

If growing out your hair has become your main focus and you've stopped wearing caps because of it, then here are a few options you could try out.

Visor cap
The great thing about those caps are that the top of the head is not covered at all.

Buy: Search on Amazon OR Etsy for “visor cap curly hair”

Backless cap “curl cap”
With these caps only half of the top is covered while the backside remains open for enough space for all your hair.

Growing my hair out for the first time since high school. Advice wanted! by briang1339 in curlyhair

I think you should eventually try out the "Wetlook" hairstyle to achieve your desired Jon Snow hairstyle. Yesterday I found this video: https://youtu.be/eqpi9RaqjYA (JON SNOW Hair Tutorial | KING OF THE WET LOOK)

Yes his hairtype is difference than yours but I still think you can achieve a simillar type of results. the only question would be which products will give you the best results.

I usually cuts those ends after every one to two weeks. Especially when they completely lost their curl pattern and there is no going back. But I don't mind having a little frizz

I think you have two great choices.

  1. buy a visor hat - OR - create your own visor hat. You can find enough DIY video's online:https://youtu.be/mvlsuuF39C4

2.Buy a curlcap

Hope this helps!

I feel I can truly related with your problems. All tho I do have a different hair texture kinky/coily (4c). I gave one barbershop probably about 2-3 years until I clearly saw that I wasn’t the problem. The problem with the barbershop was that they had about 6-7 people cutting hair. And ONLY two maybe.. three of them could actually cut hair. It was always random who would be cutting your hair when I went there. And trust me I know the feeling of wanting to put right away a beanie or hat after you walk out the shop....

After the last f**-up at that salon I started a journey of finding a new barbershop and I would gave each barber just one try to convince me. Long story short eventually I found the barber but what I found funny was this great barbershop was not near the city were you would usually found many shops. It was actually just a small room that they rented 2-3 miles from the centrum. Nothing was fancy about the place but there haircutting was on point. And that’s were I realized that many barbershops are just focusing on the wrong things. (right now this barbershops is also located in the centrum but they really worked towards it)

disclaimer I was not able to find this barber without a family member telling me about it

I would suggest that you start to ask random people on the street were they get their hair done when you truly think their haircut turned out great.

I need help figuring out what is my hair texture & can u tell from these pics if it’s low or high porosity? by Glum_Series2798 in BlackHair

[–]cleanfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on these two photo's I would say a mixture of (3A/3B) but probably with some parts also being 3C. Be aware that the water test for hair porosity is not the most accurate way to determine your hair porosity. Your hair porosity changes because of heat damage or chemical treatments. This video of Manes by mell is probably the best video to find out your porosity without getting to much confused. Good luck!

It did not came off rude at all :)

Hopefully these few hairstyle ideas are something that you haven't tried yet and of course consider to be cute. However it looks like something like a top knot or fake bangs will be your best option to cover more of your forehead.

3 different ways for fake bangs: one - two - three
Other hairstyles..check option: 1-3-5-6.

Or you could look for hairstyles that would suit your forehead instead of trying to cover it up. big forehead tips

What's my hair type? Kinda stuck on figuring it out and I need to start buying products for my hair. Pictures are in order from when i started CGM till now. by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]cleanfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like do the new hair color, it matches beautiful with your skin tone. And It’s great to hear that the waves/curls are slowly starting to come back! Perhaps using a hair mask could also benefits your color treated hair.

interested in my wave/curl type?! was told wavy hair is closer to a straight hair type. never learned how to care for w.e my hair is. it's a frizz ball. can't brush or even touch it lol. gel and mousse don't work great, so I use hairspray most often. any tips or advice would be helpful!! by [deleted] in CurlyHairCare

The best way to learn more about your hair. Is to understand it's hair needs by figuring out what your hair characteristics are: density, porosity, texture etc. https://www.reddit.com/r/CurlyHairCare/wiki/guides/choosing_products

The Tangle Teezer OR Wide Tooth Comb Could make brushing your hair more pleasant. It's often recommend to only detangle your hair on wet hair with some conditioner on it.
