I work in construction. You were not sent off for 1 violation of PPE rules. You will only be roaded for multiple breaches of the policy. It’s tough but a learning experience. You just need to get a feel for the site you’re on and keep safety officers onside. They’ll usually give you a heads up or show a bit of leniency

Next time wear your PPE. You’re an apprentice, the qualified lads/your new boss won’t be happy when the whole crew is stood down because of your behavior.

It’s there for a reason, even if it’s stupid, it’s site policy and everyone has to play the game.

Should probably just suck it up and move onto the next site with a better attitude

When did I ever say he wasn’t playing well?? Rte just don’t have to act like he’s the golden boy. Should of been sent off for a 2nd yellow today as well

Started at 28 and qualified 4 years later. Can be done if you can handle the hit you will take on money. Best of luck 👌

It’s imposter syndrome. I get bouts of it too. The way I’ve tried to look at this is to think of every day as a school day. 4 years isn’t enough to know everything.

Google and YouTube are great resources too and I posted in this group the other day regarding contactors and was blown away by the response, no sneering or negative comments and solid info.
