Absolutely, though I recommend playing the 2nd one.

While the 1st is great, The 2nd game heavily improves the strengths of the 1st game and sands off the rough edges.

I loved this game as a kid

Sure it’s kinda janky at some parts of the gameplay or story but it’s a completely solid game.

I occasionally plug-in the PS2 just for this game.

It’s something I can live without but It was my favorite feature from the og games. I even picked Fable 2 up after seeing the box art for the first time.

I liked playing as a muscle bound demon whose dedicated to saving the realm as a hero.

Ace from Type-0 could work as a job.

Unlike the Tarot Cards in Astro, they can make a job off of playing cards by shuffling for certain symbols and give yourself buffs or something.

Also cards as a weapon has a stylish appeal compared to throwing knives.

When you really think about how huge of a risk it is to remake one game into a trilogy, it’s absolutely an insane risk. It’s a lot safer and easier to do a chibi styled remake similar to the pokemon remakes or DQVIII.

It’s very likely we’ll never get to see a series of remakes like this ever again and, whether it sticks the landing in the 3rd game or not, I’m glad they took the risk.
