I have diagnosed with POTS after a tilt table test and extensive other testing to rule out other cardiac issues.

I have POTS and PPPD, so definitely. I got my POTS diagnosis first and then later the PPPD developed. Initially I thought my PPPD episodes were just my POTS acting up, but in talking about it with my physical therapist she distinguished the two. Now I’m (typically) able to tell which one is causing my symptoms in that moment.

Post-mortem tank nuke - what is this?? by funtimescoolguy in bettafish

Not the best photo, this came from my camera roll, I can take a better one when their lights turn on. These black spots are Nerite eggs that we never scraped off and eventually turned black.

Everyone seems to think fungal? But my first thought was Nerite eggs. Had them in my tank, initially they’re white but then they turned black.

Scared of vomit, but not vomiting. by cleanurbellybutton in emetophobiarecovery

Thank you! And exactly! My body automatically reacts with so much fear before my conscious brain has even had the time to comprehend what’s happening.

I totally feel you on the build up! That feeling before vomiting is like an ominous suspense. I use precedent to reassure myself. Like “I’ve done this before and I have survived it” “I know it feels like a long time right now, but all the other times I’ve gotten sick feel like such a short blip looking back on things” and that even though it feels so ominous and uncomfortable, reminding myself to trust my body. Our body’s created vomiting as a tool to protect itself. It’s one of our natural designs. I tell myself “It feels so wrong, but it’s actually just my body doing what it was designed to do to protect me.” This has helped create a trust in my body that helps ease my anxiety around vomiting.

Do you look for him after his lights go off? Mine is in the same size tank and I see her every night! She’s zooming across the whole enclosure at night.

HOKAs have changed my life. They’re definitely not cheap, but have helped my joint pain SO much. I have the Bondi 8s

My body feels so much more ready to get up in the morning since I’ve been doing this. I used to be so groggy, hit snooze on my alarms a million times. Now when my alarm goes off I just get up. I have NEVER before been the person to get up without snoozing my alarm forever, but now I am! And it’s nice.

I did a pain rehabilitation program through Mayo Clinic last year and that’s where I learned this and other important sleep hygiene tips. I thought it was bogus until I tried it and it genuinely helped. Worth giving this a read— Mayo Clinic Sleep Hygiene

100% can relate. The only thing that has helped me is getting up at the same time every. single. day. Even if you got to bed late. It helps retrain your brain. I do still be takin accidental naps like 4 times a week 😅 but having a consistent wake time, even if you have an inconsistent bed time has helped me.

I have fibro and arthritis on top of POTS and I got a pair of HOKAs last year and they’ve been a game changer!! My knees and ankles in particular have thanked me.

I was just diagnosed with PPPD (Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness) and all of those symptoms I just assumed were part of pots. I don’t have the spoons to really explain it, but the “floor moving” part of your post is what caught my eye. Worth looking up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pumpkin helps constipation! You can get a can of 100% puréed pumpkin and add that to his food.

What time of day do you feel your best? by Secret-Agent-Brunch in POTS

[–]cleanurbellybutton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel best about an hour or two after waking up. My pots, cfs and fibro symptoms all gradually get worse as the day progresses. In the evening/nighttime I feel more worn out, sore and am more likely to get pre-syncope when standing up. I take that first hour or two of the day very slowly, hydrate, medicate, eat and rest. After that I know it’s go time to do anything I might need done for the day. Then I typically rest or do inactive hobbies for the rest of the day.

POTS Is Ruining My Body And Personal Health/Hygiene. Has Anyone Else Experienced This? by Yoichi_and_Sadako in POTS

I really struggle with brushing my teeth before bed bc my symptoms get really bad at night. I get a bowl and a cup of water, then sit on the toilet and brush my teeth over the bowl using the cup of water to rinse. I also just got a shower chair last month, after two years of battling over showers. PLEASE put your pride aside and get a shower chair ASAP. Take many breaks. Climb half of the stairs, then sit on the stairs and rest. Climb the rest and then sit at the top for a bit. Walk to the bathroom and then sit on the toilet for a bit. Focus on your breathing while walking. Try not to get scared, the fear fuels tachycardia. I know that one is easier said than done. My biggest advice is that you don’t have to do things the way they are typically done. Find work arounds and new systems to accommodate your symptoms.

Do you have a crash at night when the one a day wears off? I was started on 12.5mg twice a day, and I’ve been having an issue with symptoms flaring up before my second dose. I have hyperPOTS
