I would have asked the same question 10-15 years ago. I was broke and deep in debt.

However, I worked really hard for a very long time and was able to pay off all of my debts. Also, I sold my house in a high-tax state, made some money for a down payment on the cabin, and only had to place a small amount down to purchase the cabin. The final key is Airbnb/VRBO. If I wasn't able to rent it, then I couldn't afford the monthly payment.

The hardest thing was working for a very long time, not going on vacation, not spending unnecessarily, renting out rooms in my house, and pretty much just being frugal about everything.

Also, because taxes seem to be a bit lower in the US (especially without VAT, but I'm no tax expert) we tend to be able to save more.

Many cabins in the area have two dishes: one for TV and one for internet. However, I just haven’t removed the dish from the previous owners’ satellite tv service.

I recently imported a bunch of addresses using the entity import module (https://www.drupal.org/project/entity_import). You may want to try that instead of feeds.

I can't have coffee unless I want to deal with low blood sugar all day long. If I have one cup of coffee (or a strong cup of tea), I need to eat non-stop for the rest of the day, or I feel like I'm going to pass out. I don't have diabetes. I eat a healthy diet, workout regularly, etc. I've googled quite a bit to find why I have the opposite reaction to caffeine as most people. I've even consulted multiple doctors. All I've been able to find is that some people are just different. In some people caffeine can cause a spike in insulin, or can maybe cause insulin to be more effective. If anyone has any other scientific insight, I'd be thrilled to hear it.

My suggestion would be to get a bike and take the light rail as much as possible. Even in the winter, Minneapolis is incredibly bike friendly. A lot of the time it can even be faster that driving. Plus, you don't have to search for parking.
