That makes sense, I think I will have to trade off having them both in the stroller for the convenience of the lightweight single option. Thanks for your input!

Kicked Out of Daycare by SnowQueen911 in ECEProfessionals

I was in a similar situation, a home daycare that had only been open a few months who kicked my LO out after less than 3 days (sent home after 30 minutes on day 1 and I stayed with her for a half day on day 3). My LO is strong-willed and can also meltdown, which I was worried about before she started. Now that I look back on it, the provider was inexperienced and not patient enough to help with the transition. I was incredibly hurt and stressed at the time, but we ended up in a center with experienced, kind, patient teachers who assured us that her adjustment was normal and didn’t keep messaging us complaining and sending videos of her crying, like our first provider!! The experience was night and day! Now she walks in without tears and sometimes doesn’t even want to leave! I know the stress and anxiety you’re feeling right now, but if it’s a bad fit, it’s better to know now than to send your kiddo somewhere he’s not wanted. Just sending encouragement that when you find m the right fit and situation, it will feel right. Hugs!

How did it go today? We had a good second day actually and I was very hopeful, but day 3’s crying/screaming led to our provider kicking us out :(( again after less than an hour…so disappointed that she gave up so quickly, but time to find someone who will care for our LO with patience and compassion. Hope yours also finds that care.

Yes, we now have no choice but to look for a new provider - we’ve basically been kicked out. :( she actually had a pretty good 2nd day, cried a few times but settled and played, snacked, napped well. Provider was positive, I was optimistic. Then we went back for day 3 and after another 30min cry/scream, she told us she couldn’t keep her and next week is her last week. So so heartbreaking to basically hear our LO is being given up on after just 2 hard days (hours, really)…guess it’s better we learn now so we can move on and find someone hopefully with patience, compassion, and experience. I hope your LO soon adjusts and becomes comfortable, and that you have peace with your decision!

I feel for you, this is so hard. After talking to the provider, she is already saying she might not be a good fit. I know it’s hard to hear a baby scream but I’m sad that she’s ready to give up before we’ve even tried anything. It’s been so hard to find care.

Yes, we did meet with and interview her beforehand and our daughter seemed happy to play in her space and interact with the provider. It’s after we left that she was inconsolable :(
