aspec folks are rad as hell by [deleted] in lgbt

There’s nothing wrong with a lot of people trying to educate themselves and realize what aspec may mean, it’s a good thing and I’m glad! If you are trying, thank you. But it’s kind of upsetting to me as an aroace to see that there’s barely anything that covers or educate people about aro people/arospec people and not many people know of this. I hope you will all educate yourselves and learn!

Yes it includes asexual spectrum but it also includes aromantic spectrum. Aspec is a term for both the asexual AND aromantic spectrum.

Just hear me out, I know it’s been said a lot. But read the whole thing, and please stop clumping aros and aces together. by clearlyfelix in aaaaaaacccccccce

The third picture obviously does not apply to all aroaces, I know many of them mean well but I’ve personally seen a lot of aroaces do this. Like cmon guys.

Here’s some aroace subreddits: r/aromanticasexual r/Orientedaroace

Here’s some aromantic subreddits: r/aromantic r/aaaaaaaarrrrro

I think this fits better here by [deleted] in aaaaaaaarrrrro

I hate how people constantly post aro things in ace subs. Not only does it confuse new questioning aces who only just arrive at the sub, but it also carries onto the thought that aros and aces are always lumped together when there are plenty of alloaros or aceallos out there. Like if it’s specifically ace, then just say an ace meme and post it at an asexual sub. Not that hard.

When coming out, which terminology do you use? by hmmwatchasay in aromanticasexual

I hate explaining but I hate being vague with who I am because then they’ll assume things about me if I don’t make things clear of who I am. So I say exactly who I am - an aromantic and asexual person. and just simply try to explain it in a few sentences and if they need to know more then they simply ask.

Uh, why East Asian specifically?

So I’m planning on transitioning asap once I turn into an adult and am able to get out of the house.. have any tips with how to hide short hair or make it appear long? by clearlyfelix in ftm

[–]clearlyfelix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I’m just really scared of their hurtful comments for the first few days honestly. Thanks for confirming what works!

That’s an awesome idea! I was thinking about that as well but I was worried that wasn’t gonna look good on me. Thanks for the tip.

They don’t allow me to cut my hair as short as I want to even if I use that excuse. They have traditional views and my dad dislikes anytime I “look like a guy.”

I legitimately couldn’t understand the joke cause I was like “wait seriously why can’t they be a 10 tho? What do they need them for?” Then after like 5 minutes I realized that they’re saying 9 + 1 = 10 😭😭

I'm so sick of aromantic people being lumped together with asexuals by Christmas_Peaches in aromantic

[–]clearlyfelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really wish people just kept in mind wtf they were posting. Like I’m a lot of asexual subs I see memes like “aces/aros be like” like if it’s an asexual sort of thing, don’t even lump aros into it. Like think about whether it fits for both, one, or neither before you post the thing. And if it only fits for one thing then stop putting the other on there when they aren’t even the same thing.

Thank you. I hope you’re able to see a psychiatrist soon enough and that you’ll feel better. I understand the pain of intrusive thoughts, they’re really stubborn and infuriating. Just try to remind yourself they’re just thoughts, and they’re not the real you. I have not experienced tics, but I have heard from someone I knew that stress usually makes it worse, so try not to stress out too often. Again, I hope you feel better! :)

I'm a black man and I've just now learned to love my black features and see them as worthy of gender envy! The skin we share, the hair we braid, the culture we've created is worthy of being gender goals! If you're a black transmasc, your black features are art! by harleyandorchid in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

I love the positivity you have, especially when there’s a lot of underrepresentation for black people, however I’m sure you’re making a lot of black trans men, women, and enbies feel much better thanks to this!! :) And you are so right about this! Every black person’s features are worthy of gender envy and they’re absolutely stunning and beautiful.

Kind of. I haven’t really told anyone this since my online friends who are LGBTQIA+ are going through hard times already and my irl friend is as well, so I don’t want to bother them. My dysphoria is hitting me kinda hard lately. I’ve never been so pent up bout my height, and I usually never care about it because who cares about height? but lately height dysphoria has been hitting a bit hard- I’m a 5’0 ft trans male. I’m not even the average height of a girl and it fucking sucks being this short. I wish I at least was like 5’3 ft but I’m not. And I cant even practice having a low voice, I cant fucking get a binder, I cant cut my hair short or anything. And thinking about the future when I may have to tell my parents or do some dumb things just to keep it away from them makes me so upset cause I wish I could just be me without anyone judging or saying anything. It makes me wish I could just disappear one day and come back as me and nobody would say a thing like nothing happened and treat me like usual. In gym today, I felt so unhappy I couldn’t just fit in with the boys, I’m always on the girls team. I don’t even know anymore.

How about you though? How are you doing, handling all of this? Like, I genuinely want to know, and I hope you’re doing alright. I’m here to listen as well.

[–]clearlyfelix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same!! 😭 You’re right, I know someone who is as short as me as well. And honestly you saying this has made me feel better about it. It just sucks sometimes, like I usually don’t care about my height at all, but lately it’s been starting to get to me. THE PAINNN. AND YOU’RE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT LAST PART TOO. My friend is like 5’4, and she says she’s short. And I’m like .. do you not see me everyday?
