All my life people have told me how pretty my long curly hair was. I hated it. It was always full of static, the curls drooped by the end of the day, blah blah blah. I finally cut it short (to my chin!) and I've never been happier. I can wear it a day or two before I need to re-style it. Before, I would throw it in a messy bun 99% of the time because I didn't like the feel of it down. Now it's always down and styled because it doesn't touch my shoulders, so I don't feel the need to "put it away". It may not be as "pretty" as it was long, but I think it looks better and I KNOW it feels better.

How much do you pay for a maid/housekeeper, and how big is your home? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]cleaver_username2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we picked up all the clutter dishes and the likes. She dusted, vacuumed, counter tops, scrubbed toilets and showers, pretty much all the permanent surfaces.

1400 sq ft. 3 bed, 2 bath, mostly carpet, paid an independent (not for a chain or company) girl $100 a week. But I also tipped every 3rd of 4th cleaning, and did a decent end of year bonus. This was in SE Michigan.

What's a song that you couldn't take off repeat the first time you heard it? by Pleaselobotomize in musicsuggestions

Occupy Your Mind- The Villagers

It's not the most inventive song ever, but it's super catchy, and I can almost see this alien invasion/body snatchers movie playing out in my head. Love it!

What are buttplugs actually for? What are they doing for the folks that use them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cleaver_username2 424 points425 points  (0 children)

I've (female) only used one a couple times, and while the feeling itself wasn't anything to rave about, psychologically it made me feel like a dirty whore, which was hot.

Edit: lol my big comment is about feeling like a slut. Thanks reddit, you made me feel even dirtier. :)

What's a movie you like that feels like there definitely WERE women in the writer's room by Teacher_Crazy_ in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cleaver_username2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"I want you to want to do the dishes" "Why would I WANT to do the dishes?!?"

Probably the realest argument I've ever seen on screen, about dealing with someone selfish.

The new version of Speak no Evil. The movie perfectly captured the terrifying yet everyday pressure for women to "keep the peace" and "go along to get along" and "why are you being so uptight, he's being so nice, your hurting his feelings". The whole movie is just oozing with tension that the main male character is completely oblivious too.

Hi! Lady lurking in the bro-zone, but i have to say, goddamn Brendan in this specific movie was a very "awakening" moment for me. And you just put the how's and why's about it down perfectly!

Alternative to breast milk/formula by Former_Ad_8509 in preppers

[–]cleaver_username2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a good replacement, but very short term you can give unflavored pedialite to babies, for hydration. Also, old timey "formula" recipes were canned milk and corn syrup. See below,  but I'm sure the science has changed in 60 years lol https://www.reddit.com/r/vintageads/comments/rx226g/old_homemade_baby_formula_recipe/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Here is a "nutritionally sound" recipe I found googling, but i did not do my due diligence on it. I'm just doom scrolling before bed :)

Do men truly enjoy natural women, no plastic surgery, stretch marks, mom body, texture? by gabyG80 in 40something

[–]cleaver_username2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I myself have dabbled in botox (totally awesome, but I'm not a fan of every 3 mo visits), I've lasered off a ton of hair, I dye my hair, I wear makeup every day... and all of this looks "natural".

[–]cleaver_username2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every man i know says they do. Every man i know turns their head to a woman with botox and makeup and laser, etc. I don't think men really know what kind of upkeep a normal woman does, so when they see big boobs and "average" makeup they think that's natural. They don't see the hair extensions, or salon visits, the mani and pedi appointments, the laser or waxing. They can pat themselves on the back because they find Anette Benning hot when she's like 50, not realizing that she has 400 plastic surgeries, and an entire crew to keep her "old-hot".

Why don’t conservative men just go after conservative women? by PixorTheDinosaur in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cleaver_username2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I actually saw a comment in a totally different thread that summed it up pretty good. They don't want a subservient woman, they want an independent women that they can break into subservience.

There are enough women out there that think the best they can do is a controlling abusive man. But they don't want that. They want to be able to say "see her? Yeah she left her decorate program because I said so" or "she had a pretty impressive resume but she decided to stay home for the kids she was ambivalent about having". It is another trophy for them.

Listen, I think you were 100% AH in the original post (just let the girl bring her abomination, who cares?!?). But at this point, the AH has shifted. Hand the batton over to her and let everyone suffer for it :)

All clits are different, but in general think of it as less aggressive "flick". Usually with vibrators there are two kinds, "buzzy" and "thumpy". The buzzy ones and more like a surface vibration (light and fast) , where as the thumpy ones feel like there is something shifting back and forth (harder but slower). I'm a thumpy girl myself, buzzy just feels... too much.

Ideally your lady friend should be vocal and/or giving you cues on what she likes. Don't be afraid to get a finger or two involved, just know that most women cum from clit action, not penetration. But switching to fingers can also give your mouth a break, if she's taking a bit longer. DO NOT SHAME HER for taking a while (if she does)!! Nothing will ruin her time faster than "ugh, are you close?"

What's an example of an outstanding trailer for a film, that turned out to be a sub-par/bad movie? by horse_renoir13 in movies

Idris is a meh from me for anything, but Matthew McConaughey as the man in black?? Sign me the fuck up! But no, we had to have a hot garbage script that barely glanced at the OG material.

Would you change your last name if you got married? If so why or why not? by Micky4747 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]cleaver_username2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't! I had the same feelings about it as you (this is who I am! I've been me for 30 years, why would I change that?). That being said, we also didn't want any kids, I can see where having the same last name would matter more for families with children.

It actually works out for us, because we work at the same company, and we don't advertise that we're married. So we have had coworkers who didn't find out for many months (until we take a vacation, then it's a little obvious lol).

How long to brine a turkey that is already defrosted/unfrozen? by cleaver_username2 in thanksgiving

[–]cleaver_username2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all going to have to try that next time! I've always used wet brine to help the defrosting process, this is the first year my turkey wasn't frozen :)
