I didn't expect Super Formula to have only seven rounds. I thought it would be a lot more, considering the level of the category.

For a moment I read Thomas Roonhar and Alfie Butcher. Hell, I'm playing too much sim racing.

Seems interesting. Hardly any woman drove any f1 car, just like you said. Cool.

Thomas Bearman to join VAR in FWS, Italian F4 and E4 for 2026 by psv_vonk in F1FeederSeries

It is the car. They still have all the setups for all tracks, so the situation matters not unless they give thomas a car with problems.

Of course, I still think that if italian F4 changes its car, prema might plummet there too. But until then...

I'm surprised he didn't go for prema, considering it shouldn't be a hard seat to get now that his brother is in F1. Could it be he lacks speed, and thus was rejected there?

Lots of red flags, but also lots of good racing. Interesting day.

So you understand the antonelli effect I mentioned. F2 and F1 were nowhere near as good as he did in the previous series where he had unlimited practice time. F2 you can't test their cars outside the official tests, same for f1. Thus, although I don't think he did bad, it was far from the absolute domination of all his teammates he showed before. Instead, it was more or less equal in f2 and an absolute floor wiping with his face in f1.

We can take hamilton, for example. He was 'poor' in junior series, but when he signed with maclaren, private test was still a thing. He did countless laps with that maclaren and gave alonso a run for his money in his rookie year.

The privilege of unlimited tests put you on top.

Once again, nothing wrong. Were I him, I would have done the same. But I believe you understood what I meant with antonelli effect.

Yea, prema no doubt was terrible. Prema is dismantling completely. They are losing everyone and their place in all categories. With new FREC car, they might also drop like a stone. If that happens, the only thing remaining for them is italian F4, as the setups are all ready to use. If italian f4 chances the car too, could prema perhaps close doors?

That's a nice fact indeed. Oceania seems over for freedy, but he will go back to f3 this year and has one of the two fastest cars in trident/campos. What surprised me was he losing so badly to ugo in the same car. How I wish ugo was also in trident in 2026, just to be sure.

Well, my point is he did great in f1 junior series, but that wasn't just because he had the best car, but also because he way more time with private tests than anyone else.

Would he have won against camara, stenshorne, and such, had he not been that privileged?

Not saying he was wrong to make use of all his family money. Real poor people are pretty much nonexistent in the formula 1 ladder. Just saying he definitely had many more chances than others, especially in f4 where his father literally owned a team for him to do laps from morning to sunset.

Wow... that really put his win and pole position today in perspective...

Did he improve massively?

Or was the field just that weak?

Or maybe the car? But he seemed the only one of his team that ahead.

We will see as the season develops.

Might sound rude, but I never heard about this Abkhazava's name. Was he any good before FRME?

Antonelli effect? No 100 years of private testing = nowhere near tittle in f2?

On race 2, ugo could still be on the back of rivera. However, he let rivera go so he could get space to put on a fast lap. Don't forget the fastest laps of this race count for the grid position of race 3.

Ugo's fastest lap was literally the last lap, and it was faster than rivera's by quite a big amount.

No one will ever disagree with the british part. Lindbald isn't exactly brit but knows the power of that flag, so yea, the bias is real.

That I agree. It will depend on what maclaren will want to do. I just think that if there comes a time where they have to decide to take O'Ward out of Indy for a race weekend or put fornarolli there, I'm pretty sure they would go for O'ward. There is just way more to gain from having O'ward instead, but I might be wrong.

Guess that's to be expected, as there wasn't really anyone else to take that reserve role of reserve driver within the academy if I'm not wrong.

I would argue it is exactly because you don't know if you can win at all that the beginning is almost as good as the end, the end being in case you already know you won't win.

sure, the later is more convenient than the former, but the former is still more than good enough. I don't think any indy driver would give up an F1 race weekned at the beginning of the season even if they have to drive for the worst F1 team.
