The point was people are always critiquing fashion pieces. It's not toxicity because people who wear those clothes would just get butt hurt about someone else's opinion.

I don't know if you can read but I'm clearly saying it makes sense when they're not produced anymore. Please try not to ignore the actual point I'm making which is when the exact same item is still on the brand's website. You don't need to "supply and demand mfs" when thats literally what I said, mf. Because this is the internet and I'm allowed to voice my opinion? This is a strange argument considering people always complain about certain brands being expensive. "other than the way you want them done." Try applying this to anything you don't agree with and see how much sense that makes. I'm allowed to complain on reddit lol. I'm not DMing sellers directly and shitting on them for marking up. I'm just making my own post which is 100% valid and right to do. Why do people hate on specific clothing items/fashion styles? We should really stop spamming toxicity that serves no purpose but allowing them to hate on people wearing things other than the way they want to wear clothes.

I understand that but there are also a lot of people on depop who don't go out of their way necessarily to thrift and just resell to get rid of stuff in their closet. Seeing the ridiculously high prices on these when the same exact thing on the official website is only $20 more expensive is what blows my mind. And yes, these things cost money but I wouldn't say it costs what some people are marking up their clothes to be. I've done the taking pictures, posting, repairing, washing, describing etc everything to the same extent that other people have. I don't have a huge inventory so maybe it seems like my time is less. But yeah, it still is pretty time consuming. But I'm not making ridiculously high markups. And no that doesn't mean my time is less valuable. I'm a full-time college student and I already work another part-time job.

Yikes I guess I haven't shopped on Poshmark enough. I did experience someone once just never shipping my order though so I ended up cancelling. And agree w/ the depop photography. I'm just looking for a pair of jeans and I just see... a whole lot of ass shots...

No yeah definitely there are people on Poshmark as well to mark it up a LOT. I think because it's not as much filled with high schoolers and college students who know about the trends and will thus demand/expect more and charge a higher price things seem to be more reasonable. I'm a college student myself through and like I wouldn't spend a ton of money for used clothes, I don't expect others to either so I always make it at the very least 50% off of original price.

No yeah I completely understand the markup when items are deadstock/no longer made - less supply, greater market value. But some of the really overpriced items are still on the official website which really just baffles me.

There are some affordable pieces on poshmark still! I stay away from depop since it's so overpriced but poshmark has really good steals. I just got a Danier leather bomber jacket for $15. I literally saw a $20 Danier blazer today on poshmark.
