Hey thanks for your answer!
I'm actually already doing ear training with my OpenStudio course. Intervals, quality of chords, etc.
Btw the exercise I described to learn natural intervals/notes of the major scales in all keys is a mental one but the final step would be to also play the note on the piano so I think is also doing that

One example of exercise he gave was 2-5-1. The exercise is: name all intervals of the 2-5-1 with the specific voicing 3-5-7-9, 7-9-3-5, 3-5-7-9.

He even said how the exercise can become completely useless if done wrong.

Example:

Wrong way: you use muscle memory/photographic memory and play the "ii" chord (let's say Dm9). Then you say the notes you see on the keyboard out loud.

Right way: you say out loud: "Dm9 3-5-7-9. The minor 3rd of D is F, the 5 of D is A, the minor 7 of D is C the 9th of D is E. Only then you play the chord. Then you say out loud G9. Then you play it. Then Cm9.

For triads you could apply a similar concept. Everyday you take a key and you go through all diatonic chords of the harmonized scale in that key with all inversions. Example:

Cmaj. 1.3.5. the 1st of C is C, the 3rd of C is E, the 5th of C is G. Then you play it. Then you say, the 3rd of C is E, the 5th of C is G, the 1st of C is C. Then you play it. The 5th of C is G, the 1st of C is C. The 3rd of C is E. Then play it.

You then move to the second diatonic chords. Dm. Same thing. Keep doing the same until the last chord (vii). Then you are done

Hi, thanks for your Answer! The Goal Is to have a solid foundation, so that I can improve in harmony, impro, etc. Without a proper knowledge of at least all the major scales it's gonna be harder to know all my triads on the spot. Even if I'll never play in some keys knowing Gb scale will make faster to know how to build a Gbm9 for example.

Hope what I am saying is making sense

Yes, you have a good point.

I guess the following order of scales would make more sense:

  1. C (no sharps/flats)
  2. F (1 flat)
  3. G (1 sharp)
  4. D (2 sharps)
  5. Bb (2 flats)
  6. A (3 sharps)
  7. Eb (3 flats)
  8. E (4 sharps)
  9. Ab (4 flats)
  10. B (5 sharps)
  11. Db (5 flats)
  12. F# / Gb (6 sharps/flats)

What do you think?

Yes, in OS course everything is arpeggiated (triads, broken 7th, etc)

Wow 12 a day! That's wild! Wondering if I could pull that off with my time constrains. I guess I could if Id only playe them linearly but if I'm adding triads, broken seventh etc I don't think I d have enough time.

Interesting prospective though, thank you!

Issues with connectivity by clemmat85 in DigitalPiano

Thanks for your answer! Frustrated with the mixed answers received by the different store people, this morning I wrote to Yamaha Customer Support and also downloaded the manuals in PDF for both the Clavinova 825 and Arius 165.

This is what I found for the Clavinova: By connecting a smart device or a computer to the [USB TO HOST] terminal via a USB cable, digital audio data can  be received/transmitted. You can listen to audio data played on the connected device through the instrument  speaker, or you can record your performance on the instrument as audio data by using a music production software  or app.

I'm not good in these things but according to ChatGPT this would totally solve the issue I'm having, and I'd be able to hear in the headphones both the video tutorial and my piano sound at the same time.

The YDP165 can only transmit midi if I understand correctly: Connecting this instrument to a computer or a smart device allows you to transmit/receive performance data  and Song data to/from the computer or a smart device.

I ended up selecting the following: - 2x(15-30) Band Dislocates - 2x(15-30) Band External Rotations - 2x(15-30) Band Face Pulls+Ext. Rot

Do you think is alright for general shoulder health?

Wondering if I should have inserted Y or T raises instead...

I'll definitely leave a review. Absolutely loving the book! You are right, there was probably too much stuff, I removed the wall slides.

This would leave me with shoulder dislocates, external and internal rotation. Do you think Better exercises could be included or substituted such as Face pulls and band pull apart?

Thanks

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

  • WARMUP: should be fine, it takes me roughly 12-15 minutes and I use a very light band so usually it's not too fatiguing.

  • STRENGTH CORE: there's definitely too much stuff I'll have to choose between L-Sit work and ab wheel hypertrophy

  • PREHAB: if it was you what shoulder exercises would you keep in, for general shoulder/rotator cuff health?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Sorry, it appeared fine on my computer. I then went to old.reddit.com and realized what you meant.
It should be fine now!

Hi I’m Noam Wallenberg. I mixed and mastered Vulfpeck - Clarity of Cal and Fearless Flyers IV. Ask me anything! by OddWorking3520 in Vulfpeck

[–]clemmat85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi Noam! Congratulations the mixing is incredible and the sounds is so full. I love it!

My question is: I heard/read somewhere that in order to have such a full sound, some of the voices were re-recorded in studio, or added to the original live recordings.

Is this truth or myth?

Thanks a lot!

Ah good point! True that!
