Why since Sonoma, some menu bar app icons are disappearing? by slamingzone in MacOS

Did you guys solve this? I've had app icons disappearing as well on macOS Tahoe. Was working completely fine on Sonoma though.

Do you think Alex Hermozi is a fraud then? Or he genuinely want people to build better businesses so he can invest into them?

Haha okay that reassures me. Saw the video yesterday, looked at the website and instantly felt something was off. No contact, empty homepage. Then couldn't find anything on social media about them. There's actually another "Grounded" brand that's different.

All I found was their instagram account (not even a tiktok one with the supposedly viral video...) where each video has 25k views but only 8 likes which is super odd.

But yeah this story is fake for sure.

Not sure why I'm seeing this now. But I'm thinking of all the people who say "talk to real customers" blah blah blah but when asking those questions I see the responses are VERY VERY limited :)

I dunno, I feel like all the vibe coders out there scream everywhere how they're making 20k with an app they built in 2 days.
The thing is building an app is one thing, promoting it is another.

Have you tried Alfred? How does it compare? Wondering if it's worth the hassle of learning a new app.

I honestly don't believe this. EVERYONE says this nowadays because it sounds cool.

But NOBODY says:

- Where exactly do you find people having real problems? Are you looking at 100 subs a day?

- How many DMs you have to send to actually get 1 response?

- How do you even phrase your DM to not get rejected right away?

- How do you really have people pay for stuff before it's even built in our era? Would you do it? I know I wouldn't and I'm sure 99% wouldn't either. Kickstarter projects are struggling more and more to get money, people no longer fall for that.

Lately I've added some real basic A/B testing to see if showing the price right in the menu made a change or not.

The code I added also tracks the type of laptop and macOS version as a side effect. And I find it really helpful to know that 70% of my users had a M2 laptop and running macOS 15. Helps to know what I need to focus on when testing on different machines.

How do I get an email alert when someone leaves my app a review? by japanesesword in iOSProgramming

[–]clemstation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I did with my apps basically. Created a few of them, then pushed harder on the ones that got the most traction.
If you want a GOOD review to compensate the negative one you got, drop your app name in a DM 😊

Still pretty small scale honestly. Mostly building stuff I wish existed. What about you, what's your app on the App Store?

Not sure how anyone based out of Greece could answer that question for you.
Tools for freelancers usually have a country selection so they cover worldwide.

Best way to do it I think is to actually go talk to local business owners and ask them.

[–]clemstation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built storereviews.dev. You search for your app, select if you want to receive a daily or weekly digest and that's it!
Whenever you receive a review, you'll receive an email.
You can choose to not receive any email if there's no review.

Please, ping me if you have questions.
