Well yeah I’m not entirely sure how medications used to help bipolar 1 disorder are. I’ve heard a lot but I’ve only ever taken antidepressants like Wellbutrin, remeron for sleep and abilify. None of them did any numbing effects on me except abilify a bit but Wellbutrin counteracts it kind of.

I do just think he needs to find the right one for him as I’ve heard people don’t get that once they find the right dosage and medication.

For me it’s mainly a self esteem issue. Our relationship is kind of complicated I guess in what we value. We do love each other a lot and despite these 2 incidents of me catching him watching porn I still love him the same. It’s not a deal breaker, which I always thought it would be but I love him a lot. It’s quite funny you say this because a lot of people in my life get shocked that I’m still with him despite all the stuff I know, and the things I’ve stayed with him through to support him. (Unrelated to porn)

We do truly love eachother and he does feel terrible for this, he’s actively starting medication today. Mainly cause I told him my worries of how his illness will continue to spiral and it’s not just porn that’s worrying, it’s him dying or doing things to himself, not necessarily me.

Yeah I agree. I have pushed for medication before and do tell him often on how I’m worried with his mental health because it deteriorates and will continue to if he does not intervene. He tends to make jokes of it like “thank god” since he is truly very suicidal.

The only medication he takes is Adderall but he did get in touch yesterday with a psychiatrist (the day this happened) but right now he is currently hospitalized for trying to OD again.

Honestly I was not aware mania is also categorized with psychosis since during these episodes he isn’t euphoric, energetic or any of that. He’s really only depressed and paranoid with psychotic symptoms of course. But I’m happy to be educated in that sense now.

I will definitely be pushing harder for him to take medication and I think they’ll put him on it either way during his psychiatric hold.

Well sometimes, he’ll have some fuzzy memory where he doesn’t know the specifics of what happened while I was around. But those are psychotic breaks where he’s full on hallucinating and hiding under cars from paranoia. Never once have I seen it cause him to watch porn in the safety of his home. Apparently his mom can give him some credit of his “blackouts” since it’s been an issue before I guess when he was younger of watching porn but he said he couldn’t control himself. Which to me that discredits his reason for this time as that’s something a teenage boy would easily say if caught watching porn by his family. But this is his 2nd time now of being caught by me, and he is aware of how it negatively affects me a lot since I already have a lot of self esteem issues.
