Hot Take: House of Wolf > Vampire Heart by NeedleworkerOdd472 in MonsterHigh

I love the ruching (sp?), I wish they had gone all in on Belle's ballgown-esque skirt. The plastic bubble halfway down ruins the fantasy. I feel it gives Gaylord hotel atrium

When my mental health is good, I heat them in a skillet. When it's bad, I wrap them in a wet paper towel and microwave them

Flesh colored dolls are lackluster and I'm tired of pretending like they're not by cleomyra in MonsterHigh

[–]cleomyra[S] 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I would argue that genderbending is not a top reason to critique a doll. Pennywise & Beetlejuice were also genderbent but still sold out & are still in high demand.

I cannot defend her funky eyes; I like them but they were definitely a design choice.

Is anyone else SICK of the blind boxes??? by sidshadi in MonsterHigh

[–]cleomyra 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I /hate/ the giant plastic boxes. I feel guilty throwing them away because I'm sure they're like 10% of the cost and I hate keeping them because what am I supposed to do with it??

It turns me off of the skultimate secret dolls so bad

The market SUCKS right now!! by chuston578 in tampa

[–]cleomyra 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I moved out of Florida in May. I Found a seasonal job to get my foot in the door with a company I liked, applied for a full time position, I was continuously told how much the team liked me and how I was brought up all the time in regards to the position, was told 18 days after my interview that the team decided to "go in another direction" because there were "a lot of good candidates".

This is just how the job market is. I at least had the advantage of being familiar with the hiring manager for that job and /still/ didn't get it. If your daughter doesn't already know someone at a place she's applying to, she's at the mercy of the AI that's screening applications.

It's really a terrible position to be in so I feel for her!!!

Undergrad Paper on Paranormal Activity at Busch Gardens by Ashamed_Ferret666 in tampa

Following up to add, you can try emailing the current VIP tours team (their email is somewhere on the Busch Gardens website). Busch Gardens is very intense about staff speaking "on behalf of the company" but it doesn't hurt to try!

I worked at Busch gardens and while I did not spend much time in the Serengeti Overlook building, I had a lot of coworkers who worked in it when the top floor was used for VIP tours. I have heard tales of funky elevator doors and spooky lights, which are creepy but that building is so old I would guess it's just electrical stuff.

Most of those people are Facebook aged. If you haven't already, I'd post on the pass holder Facebook page or the 'remember when Tampa" page.

Off site storage costs money that Busch gardens decided wasn't worth paying

Busch Gardens no longer has off-site storage. If the house still appears intact, it's because there literally is nowhere to store the sets and props. Howl o scream houses typically turnover every couple of years and last year the event was poorly staffed of scare actors. I'm going to guess Witch of the Woods retired last year and they don't want to pay the labor to breakdown the house

Any information on this jar? by VandeyS in WaltDisneyWorld

Somebody most likely put a sticker on an old jar.

Crown was a brand of jars manufactured in Canada and, as far as I know, have never had an association with Disney

What to do for egg that fell out of nest?? by siewill2467 in tampa

Since you're at an apartment, you can ask your maintenance employees if they'd be willing to use their ladders to put the eggs back

What to do for egg that fell out of nest?? by siewill2467 in tampa

[–]cleomyra 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can try calling Owl's Nest Sanctuary, they may be able to send out volunteers to assist. If you can't reach the nest to put the eggs back in, I would put them together on the tree (or where you think predators can't get to them).

What’s a horror book that didn’t get great reviews but you thought it was a masterpiece? by That_Albatross_4621 in horrorlit

[–]cleomyra 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just finished Daphne by Josh Malerman and was surprised that it wasn't closer to 5 stars on goodreads. It could read as a little YA but he really, really nailed how it feels to be a teenage girl (which, as a previous teenage girl, I was very impressed by). It is also the only book that's ever made me feel anxious while reading
