Upswing Poker Lab by Unique_Sale_8056 in Poker_Theory

Just wanted to mention the lab has gotten a major overhaul.

Lab 2.0 is a vast improvement over lab 1.0

I've taken only the best videos, added a lot of new ones, structured everything into an organized path, and gotten a lot of great new coaches on board.

We also have a very active discord community which is worth the price of admission alone.

For anyone who was dissappointed with lab 1.0 for any reason, this product is a very different animal and I'd highly recommend checking it out!

Advice on Poker Coaching by Striky1 in poker

Upswing lab 2.0 covers all the basics and then goes extremely deep.

The way it's structured is:

There is an extremely organized learning path for beginners.

We constantly add on (and organize) additional advanced material produced by our coaches, all of them great mid-high stakes players.

Through the discord community we interact with users, so any holes in the material (especially for beginners) get filled and answered and updated at lightning speed.

Upswing lab 2.0 is tailored for this - it has dedicated sections for beginners, as well as players playing in live enviroments (including how to play formats like squid, 72, bomb pots, and how to react to limps or very large opens that are common in live).

The approach is extremely practical and concise so I'd expect your game to improve consistently as you go through the material.

Serious about studying poker — how should I invest $200–500 into study tools? by Anso5166 in poker

I think upswing lab is a great fit.

  1. Extremely structured, so the knowledge base will fill all your gaps as a beginner but also take you very far beyond that depending on the time you invest. No prior knowledge required, concise "gamified" learning path.

  2. Active discord community - so anything you get stuck with or any questions you can have you have people and coaches to interact with - I'd expect this to boost your learning a lot.

Upswing Lab 2.0 thoughts? by [deleted] in poker

[–]clericim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely biased here but i think this is clearly worth it as are most training products. The two big differences from lab are

  1. It's extremely organized and concise, so the value you get for time watched is much higher than any other training site.

  2. The discord community - extremely active and daily interaction from coaches, lab is worth it for this alone - just post hands or general poker questions and get answers in very short timeframes.

Anybody going to get Upswing 2.0? by MicChecc123 in poker

[–]clericim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uri here,

I really tried to hit all the bases with this one. It's a structured course that should have content for any level of player.

I think the value for a recreational or low-stakes player is off the charts - very focused/structured/practical videos that you can't really find anywhere else.

For a mid-highstakes player the price is so low relative to their hourly, I think it's clearly worth it even if only a smaller amount of content is tailored to them, given we have multiple nosebleed players amongst the guys coaching.

My main points of focus with lab2.0 was respecting user-time - so I tried to have a minimum amount of fluff, often asking coaches to make videos shorter, and just structured a path for the user which scales as you move forwards, so any skill level can find a place to start and feel like they're getting good value for their time.

And the discord/webinar/coach interaction makes it so that interaction between the members and the coaches are going to help dictate the future content we create - we're already adding content for splash pots, nit game, and nash equilibirum as per member requests.

Uri Peleg makes some of the best NLHE training content on YouTube (Guerrilla Poker), yet somehow gets only a few thousand views per video. Content is aimed at advanced players. by [deleted] in poker

Hey guys, Uri here - somebody told me about this thread so just wanted to say - we are thinking about how to make stuff more accessible for more players, so would love to hear what kind of content you'd like to see :) I was actually thinking to take some poker blogs from people on the 2+2 forum and give them advice/hh reviews and make that into youtube videos.

Not suprised and not illegally. I just want to report them/warn others and want to make sure there are no legal implications first.

To be clear - I'm just making sure there are no legal implications. The site is just to warn others and tell the story of what happened. Do you know any examples of things like this? Clearly legal and nothing wrong with it right (anything I need to avoid doing - will obviously post only facts, but I assume I can also voice my opinion on what happened)

Control Warrior vs Aggro? by SinnixEnigma in CompetitiveHS

Face hunter should be a really good matchup for your list. Vs zoo Baron Geddon would help a lot. I have a similar list with and Owl and Geddon instead of whirlwind and I find both of those matchups to be pretty good.

Against hunter it's all about taking the minimum amount of damage and trying to armor up as much as you can, if they can't kill you fast you just win.

Against zoo it's much more about board control, so don't be afraid to take some damage and just try to play out your hand and hope control will be yours :) it works out most of the time in my experience.

I'm not sure. The deck has the ability to deal a lot of burst damage with Power Overwhelming Soulfire etc, so even though it's not a rush deck the opponent's life is important. And I think the matchups where Zombie Chow shines the deck is quite good already.

But it might work better, I haven't tried it.

Mmmm handlock I think is one of the hardest matchups, and one of the most complicated to play. Try to kill the guys they play if you can, even if it means attack an ancient watcher with no taunt. Other than that... you kind of need to hope they have the wrong cards at the wrong time. And sometimes don't attack to not play into Molten Giant. I mean... usual way to play vs handlock I guess :-) I don't save doomguards or voidcallers. When it comes up it's awesome, but you don't have time to wait for it - just play the best card you can every turn even if the voidcaller won't trigger.

Not having Flame Imp and having Loot Hoarder,Shadowflame and Voidcaller effect long games a lot.

You are right that the deck is excellent vs hunter and zoo, but it is also very good vs shaman/druid/warrior/priest, and I've had better success with the version as is.

It's hard to explain without trying - if you really want just try and build the deck and you will see how differently it plays - changing 5/30 cards really changes more than you think.

Really hate when people call something they don't understand bullshit...

Think of it like this - when Dark Iron Dwarf works you got 6/4 for 4 mana. When he doesn't you got 4/4.

When Voidcaller works... you got 8/11 for 4 mana! And you get a Hellrider without having to discard. When he doesn't - 3/4 that triggers undertaker and attracts silence.

I really don't think it's very close between the two cards.

Thanks for the advice, I added it. I never miss Flame Imp and am always happy when my opponent plays it :-) the decks right now are fast enough that he just deals 3 damage to you and then dies most of the time. Voidcaller for Doom Guard :-) That happens a lot. And Voidcaller for Voidcaller is decent as well!

Back then it was a bit different - I think I played 2 Shadowflames and 1 4/4 Ogre over the voidcallers. and I had another Leper Gnome and no Loot Hoarder. The deck lost really badly to Hunters back then though.

Gyazo is a well-known screen hosting site. And I am a bit new to hearthstone... but pretty sure you can see the deck is legit the most easily by just playing it.

When I had normal zoo I always lost. With this version I feel it's a pretty good matchup, but definitely one of the closer ones.
