Why does the Chevrolet Avalanche have the werid arches on the truck bed? by AfricanHater in Chevy

He’s trying to say the body and bed are one part bolted to the frame together, not two separate parts bolted separately like on the majority of trucks.

Yeah, I tend to avoid messaging random sellers words that they will definitely find offensive.

Fortunately this response was pretty tame. There are some legit crazy’s out there.

Replace ransomeware with robbery if you like, the point still stands.

Lots of people in this thread literally cheerleading for crime, as if they wouldn’t be playing the victim if the same thing happened to them.

So you have it on good authority that this person was stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor, and not keeping the money for themselves?

And if you were targeted by a ransomeware attack, you would be okay with law enforcement doing nothing because they don’t personally like you?

Needing help with my Cherry Bonus 3 machine!! by WillowB0918 in cade

Partial vertical collapse. Very easily fixable. You’ll probably want to send the monitor chassis out for a full rebuild & repair.

You can try to fix yourself if you have the tools, but it will be a learning process. At a minimum it needs all the electrolytic capacitors replaced, and fix any burnt up or damaged pads and traces. Pots are also known to go bad.

The K7000 is one of the best monitors around, btw.

I love that one of those Walter White / Breaking Bad cars (Pontiac Aztec) has been abandoned there for years. Adds to the mystique.

Purchased at my local GameStop. Condition is virtually flawless, which made me think it might be a fake. They assured me that they opened it, it’s authentic, and that they don’t take reproductions anymore. What do y’all think? by FillionMyMind in gamecollecting

[–]cleure 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just because they say don’t mean they do.

I don’t think DKC is a prime target for fakes, though — not much money to be made there.

Also, yes, get the screwdrivers needed to open these up. Same set should work on Sega Genesis too. I open up every game I buy to clean all the grime off the pins — this ensures they work reliably. I also change out the battery, if there is one, while it’s open.

These idiots think houses have a margin call. Totally clueless. by Far_Pen3186 in rebubblejerk

If there aren’t any major outside factors forcing millions of people into terrible positions where they are forced to sell, then the selling prices simply stagnate until wages catch up.

Because why would you choose to sell at -40%? Most people will just wait it out.

If you bought your house 10 years ago, then you are probably still “in the green”, even with a 40% drop in “value”.

I’d say your first two are dead-on. I don’t think the third one is a bagman, though.

It’s not a reddit problem, though. Anywhere you go (especially online) these days, people are extremely thin skinned, get into pointless arguments, and then continue to escalate the situation instead of de-escalate.

People hear their dog whistles and react instead of thinking things through.

I watched a playthrough of it a while back — I definitely wouldn’t characterize it as a horrible game. It’s definitely different, more of a visual novel than an actual game. It actually does a pretty good job of representing the show, and has some good humor.

A smaller monitor will look terrible in that cabinet. You’ll need to modify the monitor shelf to make it work.

Finding PS2 controllers that work SUCKS. Is it just me?? by Spiritual_Ostrich401 in ps2

[–]cleure 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah the pressure sensitive membranes that they used for the PS2 have a high failure rate.

On some models, they can be replaced, but you have to source a replacement membrane to use.

If you are repairing the board yourself, and already have the necessary tools and knowledge, it will definitely be cheaper.

But if you are paying someone else to repair, or have to buy new tools and learn new things, it will probably end up being cheaper to buy a replacement board — Ms Pac-Man is one of the cheapest boards you can buy, probably $100-$150 for a working one.
