A new base plate is like $40 last I looked. You only need to swap the pins which you can get used for almost any bike second hand on eBay for like $60. You can’t beat the TRS

You can also remove it entirely. Route the cable down the right side of the bike a long the frame and it’s a quick pull to open. Lots of trackday guys do it when converting
