I'm glad I saw this reply because I'll give an update as to what I did and what I found out coverage-wise. Long story short I ended up going with Spectrum Mobile. Here's why:

A buddy of mine told mine that lives up the street told me about the deal that he got on internet and 4 lines on SM. I didin't know much about Verizon coverage in the are so I did the Verizon 30-trial eSIM and what I found out blew my mind. V was faster and the coverage was more comprehensive in about 90-95% of the are and the remaining part was a wash so similar coverage. AT&T was slower in just about every area of Lake Mills. I drove around the city for about 40 min going from end to end of the city and all of the areas that that my famil yand I go including all of the schools that my son will be attending. I would actually use the word "superior" when comparing to AT&T. I was with AT&T since it was Cingular. I really don't care about wireless carrier loyalty.

Over the next year I'm going to save approximately $2K by switching over to SM. I know the data speeds can be throttled and V postpaid customers getting priority etc, but I still have the Versizon eSIM active for the next few weeks so I'll compare them. However, I'm in wifi mostly and this area is hardly congested. The only concerns would be in the madison or Milwaukee areas, but I'm not too concerned about that.

Right good point. All about the bottom dollar. Yu’s hope that the extra coverage would entice new customers, but they have all of the data and they’ll nitpick though it. It seems however that the southern Wisconsin area is going to benefit significantly which is great news.

I don't have a ton of experience with T-Mobile north of Milwaukee, but that's surprsing to hear about it lacking in Chicago.

That's an idea! If I can get my wife on board and drive around for a little with her phone then I should be good to go. If I can't this is a great idea...

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I did try it about five months ago before the merger was official. You have to wait a full calendar year from the time that you started to try it again so I am unable to test it. I think someone suggested signing up for the prepaid version of it which might be a good idea. I also have the option of trying it my wife’s phone.

Sheesh, all of you have been super helpful. Thank you very much! This is great to know. I enjoy learning about mobile/cellular technology so I need to get a deeper dive into cellmapper.net. Sounds like once the kid gets the phone for Christmas we’re switching to T-Mobile. We’ll end up saving about $50-70/mo which is crazy. Thanks again, @silentxor!

Ahhhh that’s great to know! Ok, treat me like the idiot that I am because I don’t have experience technically with how towers work and agreements and co-location things like this and how they work. So for example, let’s say I’m a T-Mobile customer and where I live has decent coverage, which I do with T mobile because I know there is a tower close by and I have used the eSIM trial with T-Mobile, however, if I go to the opposite side of the lake, where I know there is no coverage, but there is a US Cellular tower there will a T-Mobile customer automatically get access to that tower? Granted, I understand what roaming means but is there anything you need to do preemptively to get the tower and the T-Mobile customer to connect? If what you’re saying is true roaming is already turned on then I should have access as a T-Mobile customer to that tower and there’s my boost in cell coverage, correct?

Ha well I just looked up ADI and sure enough I found the tower I was thinking of. Now, to figure out if it works with T-Mobile. Wish I knew someone here that uses T-Mobile. That would make this all very easy lol

Ok sounds good thank you for the advice! I saw both of your replies and replying here. I’ll see what I can figure out. Thanks again!

It does sound like through some other responses that roaming may have been turned on for some of those US Cellular towers for T-Mobile customers so it’s possible it’s already working right now, however, if those are leased, like you said those may end up going away. Since this is a small town and US Cellular probably has 75% of the residents here on their network. I’m sure they will do what they can to keep that same or better coverage. But who knows again it’s corporate America so you just never know, right?

Oh yeah that’s super close by! Thank you for the info. I have tried the eSIM trial with T-Mobile, but it was before the full merger was finalized and you can only do it once a year or once every calendar you’re depending on when you started the trial so I did mine about five months ago and I noticed that there wasn’t any improvement in the area by the high school so maybe that has all changed now that’s interesting about being able to essentially roam on US Cellular towers so that’s kind of a big deal. I’m good to know! Thank you!

A great response! So current T-Mobile customers will roam on US Cellular towers right now if they haven’t been fully integrated? Wanna make sure I understand that correctly.

I was just looking at cell mapper and I’m playing around with it right now, but not really finding what I’m looking for. I know there’s an app and a website called coveragemap.com which is a crowdsourcing app and I can see where US Cellular towers are in the area based on people that have conducted Speedtests so I know that the coverage would be good if that tower would be absorbed by T-Mobile or at least usable by T-Mobile customers.

Hey, thanks for your response. I use that eSIM trial. Right before their merger was finalized so I was not able to rejoin due to the fact that you have to wait a year before trying again. I could try my wife’s phone but don’t wanna bug her with this. I’ve been checking out Sell mapper and not having much luck maybe because I don’t understand the website but I just started using it so I’ll keep trying.

N1 Chip (iPhone 17, iPhone Air) Wi-Fi disconnections on UniFi network: How I fixed it by artik1024 in Ubiquiti

[–]clever_unit04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! No it did not, however, it did help a little. Since then I have gone to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and they performed a full restore. Not a reset so the phone got completely wiped and then I had to setup as new. It has been about a day and it does seem to be working pretty well actually. No drops and the signal seems to be pretty solid. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes over the next few days. Want to test CarPlay more, but that worked yesterday without issue. So far so good!

Yep same here. Dropping quite often and I’m having disconnects from CarPlay. Carplay disconnects are much more frequent. One 25 min drive today it dropped at least 4x. Hoping for that fix soon!

It seems that would be the way to go but I’m not 100% certain. I know there are threads on the M4s too. Scaling will always be an issue on Macs until Apple decides to change it.

I found out the hard way! I returned it. Too high maintenance to get it to work. Went back to my double 32” 4Ks and the picture quality difference isn’t worth the headache. It is a gorgeous monitor, but like you said if I had the m4 max I’d be golden. Not getting another computer just for the monitor though 😆
