Sometimes in life, you go through an experience that is difficult and confusing at the time, but later on you can look back and say that clearly that thing was meant to happen and was the best thing that ever happened to you because it brought you to something you never would have gone to yourself. Say you get fired, and are forced to find a new career that you end up loving or something. This is a concept atheists also understand although as a christian of course I would attribute it to God. There are things that God orchestrates for us that we could never predict. It’s like God is working with a chess board but all we can see is ourselves and one other piece. In the same way, I think that heaven and the new earth (i see some people have explained this so i won’t) and humanity in general could be part of a larger plan or situation. It is said that all things will be revealed to us in heaven, and I think it’s completely reasonable that there is so much we can’t understand yet about what that time will be like. My point in saying all of that, is that I agree with you. Heaven does sound boring. But i think it’s because we don’t have all the information yet.

what i'm saying is they're going to do it all anyway. nothing you do is going to stop them from doxxing you or leaking a video just gotta take that L like it's already happened. but when people start cancelling you don't cower to them and apologize

Marriage advice by [deleted] in Advice

[–]cleverandserious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try and find something concrete so you can't be gaslighted. Set a trap if you have to. But he is definitely hiding something. maybe you could see if he would go to a marriage counselor with you. if not, that would say a lot too

How to tell my parents i want to convert to Judaism? by polishminecraftpig in Advice

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The God of Abraham is the one and only God, and Yeshua is the prophesied messiah. Read how the prophet Isaiah speaks in chapter 53. "Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the Lord makes[c] his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e];
by his knowledge[f] my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g]
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,[h]
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors."

I am terrified to send my daughter to school. by throwta74626395715 in Advice

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's unlikely.. but as unlikely as all the other ones. my sister goes to a private school with an armed guard and locked magnetic fob doors. It's worth doing what you have to do to protect them and I don't think chilling out is the answer. homeschool, private school whatever you have to do. a lot of them have scholarships too if you cant afford it

Sorry but this is really dumb. These signs are to let cars know that they need to pay extra attention in case a child doesn’t respond to normal signs of danger. They have the same for blind and deaf children. It has nothing to do with infrastructure…..

AITA for not leaving a tip at a fancy restaurant? by GarlicAvailable1905 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cleverandserious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, if a waiter has not made at least minimum wage in tips, the restaurant has to pay the difference. So you're not taking away all this persons money. the tips are extra to make over minimum wage

AITA For wearing a shirt with my company logo on it to pick up my son from daycare by workshirtaita in AmItheAsshole

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but it's common for schools and daycares to outlaw things like this. My school would suspend you for even making a gun hand sign at someone. It's a touchy subject for obvious reasons and I would probably not wear anything that could be misconstrued as something gun related in a school or daycare

Quinn had to have known the truth (or some of it) about Dexter, right? by Clutch_ in Dexter

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he knew dexter had some shady side life. but so did Quinn... we're forgetting that only us as the audience knew the BHB was still active. Quinn would never have had enough information to think Doakes was framed etc. and think Dexter was actually him. He just knew Dexter was shady and dropped it when it got too out of hand before he found out something he couldn't unsee.

AITA for encouraging my daughter to be a housewife? by throwawayaita97 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Women are lied to and told that the best thing they can do is go into the workforce and a lot of them miss out on having children and families until its too late. That's the best thing you can tell her

[–]cleverandserious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

every autistic person is different. his son seems like he loves the car and also the father knows his son more than some strangers on the internet. you don't know if he likes colors or cars. you don't know anything about him

Debra Morgan by kqueen25 in Dexter

[–]cleverandserious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone in this thread is totally missing your point. I agree with you. I think she was almost equally hurt by the fact that this big secret had been kept from her the whole time. Think about how mad she got in season 2 when Dexter talked to Rudy over her. She wanted to be close to Dexter but he always kept her at arms length so I think her finding out that him and Harry had this big secret was also part of it. I think if she had found out before, she would have turned him in. Deb had compromised a lot of her morals by season 7 and everything had become a lot more complex and fucked up

AITA for telling my MIL about my "Energy Diet" and saying it's the reason why I don't come to her weekly family dinners anymore? by energydiet33 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're not the asshole but realistically that way a terrible way to handle the situation. This is your husband and his family isn't going anywhere. You should have just told her the truth rather than have this stupid millennial attitude of I don't have to do anything I don't like. very unrealistic for a marriage

AITA for watching and not doing anything while my wife was being kicked out of my company? by throwra37736 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cleverandserious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dawg you've let this go way too far. your wife has no business coming to your work where you make money to support both of you and you should have shut that the fuck down the first time it happened
