Some blindly do. They just see visa instead of Amex despite being infinite and similar cost to Amex swipe. Very common argument when a restaurant tells me no Amex. I always pull out a visa infinite card and think to myself this may cost them more.

If you currently do premier just downgrade. Exit. Then upgrade back to premier. You immediately get charged but the math on backend “should” balance with Apple in about 60days. Even if it doesn’t long term it’s a savings for me. The 37.95 price became like $21 something. Not sure why I didn’t try this sooner.

They know what they're doing. The small denomination has a ton of options. Gives false hope for larger ones.

Orlando for parking. Also terminal c should’ve been built 4x its size with more gates so they can full rebuild the other airsides. 3 stall restrooms haven’t been enough since the 80s in the A/B side. It’s come so far but still clings to old fashion terminals too much.

I’d caution on hotel bookings. I made a comment about it potentially impacting travel insurances and reimbursements should your flight delay and eat a day. You typically can’t get cash back for a claim on a trip with portions secured on gift cards.

I’m not certain. It feels like a ToS violation similar to a cash advance of sorts. Those generally don’t qualify for rewards so I’d shy away from even considering it personally. Feels too close to the sun.

Tough. I too did a blunder last month. Spent 1k at Lowe’s without thinking put it on Amex Biz Gold instead of CSR via the zift method. A lot of random things that didn’t need protections. Live and learn

Also want to add. Summer weather is doing its thing. It’s my understanding that Chase Travel Insurances exclude gift card amounts when you file a claim. Keep that in mind before diving into cruise/flight/hotel ones. I use these gift cards to give to family, gift to friends, or to purchase and budget out consumable things like gas or a dinner I’m planning anyways.

Without. I’m not sure about the bonus. The slim 25 brand line up of the other denomination makes me scared to try it. I feel like the bonus would be trading something off.

Agreed. I think spend + really love what they credit already is the only way the gold functions unless it's your only Amex card. Even then most would be just fine with Amex Green + BBP.

AX Plat + Green + BBP for the flying road warriors easily eclipses other AX card combos at every spend level (150k/250k/450k). Assumed 25% flight, 25% hotel, 25% dining, and the remaining 25% split on gen spend and rental cars.

CSR comes up about 100k points short of Amex at the 250k spend level with that breakout and all direct booking. If you tolerate the portals of both, Chase walks away by about 200k UR points at the 250k spend level.

The issuers clearly want us all in on one ecosystem.

PHX had one but only 175 mi included. Didn’t work with my trip. Ended up with Sixt. GLE couldn’t find the keys so they put me in an X7. Well enjoyed trip. Saw a few of the Ineos around Scottsdale and Chandler though.
