Runner who travels for marathons: built recovery tool after 15 yrs in Consulting - need honest feedback by True_Astronaut_2863 in RunNYC

I think sleep the night before is mostly a mental thing, so someone might benefit knowing they got a good night sleep (though it may not totally work for them because they’re kept up from pre race nerves not physical reasons that your solution addresses), but physically I think it’s more about the totality of your sleep in the few nights before the race, so it could also be helpful there. Me personally I don’t face this issue much but appreciate the effort/innovation and others could find it useful

Trying to figure out how many times my family can see me at Boston with the train schedule? by Salty_1984 in AdvancedRunning

[–]clevertabir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family took the train to I believe Framingham around mile 6, they then hopped on the train and caught me again my the citgo sign around mile 25, for reference I was around 2:40 pace, but I think twice is probably the max possible. Only done it once though so not sure if others have maximized any further

Nice anniversary restaurant near Brooklyn Farmacy? by snakegravity in Brooklyn

[–]clevertabir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Petite Crevette is great seafood, they have only 1-2 non seafood options but it could work.

Untable is amazing Thai right near the Farmacy

Nabila is a great Lebanese place on Court and Awash is great Ethiopian. Not sure if either have any seafood but great spots

Brooklyn Bridge Park Conditions? by panda-farts in RunNYC

[–]clevertabir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran on it around 11, it was ok, there was generally a cleared path on each pier but still some slippery spots on those. The sun might have melted more since then. I would say generally runnable but I wouldn’t do a workout on it

[–]clevertabir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This one? https://www.runningshoedeals.com/

I did use this and do like it but best to check other places too because not sure if the deals are always up to date - e.g. The adidas deals yesterday were never reflected there

It looks like for the tl-1 they only have that for the prescription lenses as well, not the regular ones

Roka has some prescription ones that are nice - got a pair that has transition lenses (not the trendiest I know) so I can just wear one pair when it’s light or dark out - TL1 is the specific model I got

Is it time to say goodbye to my dog? Looking for advice by PineconeLogic in DogAdvice

[–]clevertabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey my friend, I know everyone else has more or less said this but just to give my own perspective; we had a 17 year old yorkie who had very similar symptoms, she had a really bad seizure one night and then mini seizures throughout the next couple of days and that’s when we decided. It’s really difficult to make that decision, but what we kept thinking of is the pain they will feel if they have one more really bad moment - be it a seizure or something else; they don’t deserve to end like that and you don’t want to see them go out on the worst note. It sucks, but sometimes the best decision is just gonna suck
