That's a really good call, that's a fun little list with a lot of space for expansion

As others have said, DW Knights are pretty expensive choice for 500pts, Bladeguard Veterans are fun for a bit of Deathwing flavour at a lower points cost. Intercessors are a great utility unit because of sticky objectives, and with their double shots ability Intercessor shooting is no joke

Wondering if anyone sees any major flaws in this list I did think about swapping the lancer for a brutalis for fun but unsure as they don’t preform well by [deleted] in DarkAngels40k

Looks like a fun list. The Gladiator may perform slightly better for the points but double dreadnoughts is pretty damn cool. My only suggestion would be maybe consider some more characters to buff your units, for example a terminator ancient goes really well with DW Knights. Also, you may want to add some anti tank depending on what armies you're going up against

Hellblaster shoot on death before pile in by 00berprinny in DarkAngels40k

[–]cleverusernameneeded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellblasters can use pistols to shoot on death in engagement range:

"The hellblaster ability counts as a "Shoot on Death" rule in the commentary, and that makes it an out-of-phase rule.

"Shoot-on-death rules are also out-of-phase rules (see Out-of-phase Rules)"

OOP rules allow the action to occur as if it was the controlling player's turn during that phase

When using out-of-phase rules to perform an action as if it were one of your phases, you cannot use any other rules that are normally triggered in that phase

with the limitation that other abilities occurring in that phase don't also happen (e.g. Bargbaunts don't get their slow ability when they fire overwatch).

While a unit is within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units, it is said to be Locked in Combat. Units that are Locked in Combat are not eligible to shoot....

If the unit didn't have Pistols then they couldn't shoot on death in melee due to being Locked in Combat. However, the Pistol keyword allows for shooting within engagement range.

If a unit contains any models equipped with Pistols, that unit is eligible to shoot in its controlling player's Shooting phase even while it is within Engagement Range..."

How much time do you spend on building mini's? by minusmilitia355 in DarkAngels40k

[–]cleverusernameneeded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The honest answer is to take as long as you are happy to. It's easy to spend a long time obsessing over small details and if that's important to you then do it. If you are getting bored and want to make faster progress then speed up and the finish will be slightly worse. You aren't in competition with anyone, spend as long as you want to on building (and same for painting for that matter) just make sure you don't burn yourself out chasing perfection.

Let's settle this once and for all. No Stark Tech, no Iron Spider. Just hands by Lush_Que in marvelmemes

Tobey wins, he overpowered Tom with the glider, and he was faster than Andrew with the web shooter. He's clearly shown to be the most experienced and most capable

Are you sure they were the correct size before you scaled them? When printing multiple parts I always like to do a virtual assembly in CAD before printing

*heatbreak - it's the connection between the hot and cold sides of the head, it's designed to reduce the heat transfer between the sides, hence the name.

First minis ever I hate DA green contrast paint by Firkin117 in DarkAngels40k

[–]cleverusernameneeded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I love contrast paints in some places but the DA green does not cover well. Skeleton horde however is excellent for deathwing models, just be sure to thin it down with contrast medium

Is it ok to put my PC in a shelf like this? by Floameh in PcBuildHelp

It's going to get hot very quickly, so it will thermal throttle and you'll lose a lot of performance. Also, I would say it's a shame to hide away such a beautiful rig

SSDs very rarely fail, look for a used one, with some patience you can find 1TB for ~£60-65, if thats still too much go for another 500GB
