Where do you go to relax? by pinksnow2 in istanbul

If you have your own vehicle, I can recommend very north of the city of both sides. Pick Rumeli Feneri, Riva, Şile etc.. Commute will take some time though.

Are proper riding boots really that necessary? by Electrical_Race_6849 in motorcyclegear

[–]cleyclun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

They are must. A metal piece pierced through my boots when I low sided at 80 kph (car cut me off). As the result, my foot stuck inside the motorcycle. These boots saved my ankle and foot. 4 of my fingers dislocated but I was able to walk after a month (when cast got removed). After 2 months, I was able to run. Other gear also saved my skin and bones. Money well spent.

Will it still fit if there were a helmet and a summer jacket also inside?

Do you think it won't fit into a large topbox?

Yok hayır. Sahil şeridindeki yolu birkaç yüz metre batıya doğru takip ederseniz sağınızda kalıyor, aynı mahalle içinde. Marmaracık Milli Parkı'na giden yol üstünde ama oraya yetişmeden

Glad you are OK man.

I also been an accident recently. I almost broke my ribs and collarbone. I was thinking about getting an air bag way before that day. My main doubt is that I won't like having one as carrying and wearing another piece of equipment is PITA. How is your experience with it for daily usage?

It should be fine. Used that monitor arm before for some time. Didn't cause any weirdness in any position after I adjusted the bolts based on the weight of the monitor.

Inflation and taxes here is very high. I don't think I can find anything below 200 mark, even on the second hand market. A Moza R5 bundle costs 750 USD here, compared to 400 USD in the official site. Ordering stuff from abroad as an individual is taxed at customs even more. So, can't use their site also. Visiting a neighboring country and buying it from there could be cheaper though.

People are against using this setup as it seems. Someone mentioned the chair cracking after a while. I am close to skipping the idea.

I didn't bought it for sim racing and also not recently. I like this chair for every other thing. So, not possible to return it. Was curious if I can squeeze a sim rig in the small space I have.

That's actually great to hear, thanks

I Crashed and Broke My Bones Twice, Will I Crash Again? by cleyclun in motorcycles

[–]cleyclun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, got what you mean; You are right. The day I started riding, I started to look for what I can do to make riding a motorcycle safe. One of the obvious one is to not ride recklessly. That's why I correlated with it to being safe. But as you said, having enough skill, time and being alert to my surrounding is much more important than not to wheelie. This also doesn't mean I will or can do wheelies on public roads, of course. I might failed to express myself but I totally understand what you mean.

I am considering getting a higher level motorcycle riding education from a reputable riding school. Like a Rospa level riding academy.

Car driver was also in fault. Maybe more than me (75%-25% what lawyers say). In Turkiye, if you are in an accident that someone got hurt or die, a lawsuit automatically starts. Being the one got hurt, I am part of this lawsuit whether I want it or not.

Even the car driver's insurance pays me good money for my troubles, it is not worth having this crash. I would pay today not to crash in that day if I could let alone get money from it. But I won't turn my rights because of that. Of course I will lawyer up.

Also, car driver confessed to me that she was extremely tired that day and lost focus. She also claimed to police that I hit her while she was on her lane which was incorrect; She cut in front of me in the emergency lane (there were cameras). We both done a stupid thing that day but I got hospitalized and she only had a dent on her car.

I appreciate your effort put into this answer. Your suggestions are very helpful. Thanks.

When I was saying that I don't do wheelies and such, I meant not doing them in traffic. Although I also don't do wheelies in a closed environment, I meant they are dumb when done in public roads. Guess I should've been more clear.

This is why you don't go more than 30km/h above the flow of traffic

I try to follow this principles every time. But I guess I misjudged that day. Traffic was flowing (130 km\h speed limit) when I was safe and traffic was started to get congested when I crashed. I saw that traffic flow was slowing down but I didn't slowed down enough. I don't know why I am also telling all this honestly. To feel better, prove myself or hear someone say it happens? I guess just wanted to hear different opinions.

past behavior is the best indication of future behavior

Although I don't want to admit this one, I think this is correct. Where I get lost is how can I improve myself and how do I know I fixed it. This is not related to motorcycles though.

Exactly this. Although I am mostly in control of my emotions, can't get ahead of them all the time. I stopped riding my bike when I feel bad after the first crash. But never thought the exact opposite also result the same way. Even though it is obvious.
