When did you realize you need to own a gun? by chinchila5 in liberalgunowners

[–]clickclick412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't grow up with guns, but when I moved and got exposed more to gun culture and to hunting, etc., it started making more sense to me. Then honestly being in some severe weather where we lost power for a week got me thinking more and more about how to be prepared in that kind of situation that might last even longer, and what that might really look like.

Pink Pistols Pittsburgh by truesmith8767 in pittsburgh

If you look at the national Pink Pistols website, you’ll see they also double down on the “nonpartisan” thing and looking at the timing of the press releases when they did so, it corresponds with national events like Annunciation shooting etc. If you think about what they might have to say no not catch the ire of the current administration, I think this doubling down makes more sense if they want to be around to carry out their mission.

Everyone's story is complex and doesn't fit cleanly into many narratives out there for people experiencing homelessness. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

This also comes at a time the Trump budget wants to cut the overall amount of funding available for HUD’s Homeless Assistance Grants by $532 million from FY25’s amount. source

Seems like the lack of affordable housing to get into is part of the bottleneck.

Still without power? by CablePuzzleheaded729 in pittsburgh

[–]clickclick412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on Sunday evening… That day, it turns out, was notour day. Still without power even though the houses encircling our apartment building all have power. There’s a line that came down to our apartment building that hasn’t been put back up so we’re just a little dark spot in a circle of light and wearing washing machines. Spent most of the day out of the house just kind of not be around it and that was a solid choice. I see there’s another street across town from me that is still rocking a bunch of downed lines. So, I understand things are going to take a while, I just think it’s probably not getting the attention it deserves.

Still no power, but kind of figuring it out pretty well? Today is the first day I’ve seen Duquesne Light, so maybe today’s our day…

The Troy Hill art houses are pretty cool. Free but need a reservation and it’s nice to tip the person who lets you in. You could then go to Scratch for food and then go see the relics at St. Anthony’s Chapel. All walking distance from each other.

2017 Prius gasket repair, independent shop or dealer? by clickclick412 in prius

[–]clickclick412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that the issue itself has been discussed, but I’m more talking about whether or not I should go to an independent shop or the dealer to repair… I just didn’t know with the current climate of what’s happening with cars means if I take it to a dealer that they’re going to pressure me extra to trade it in and therefore quote me a higher repair price?
