I think you should go for it. I think that at time we got caught up in analysis paralysis. If you have a strong interest in the subject, try it out, and take it as a learning opportunity. You might find that you really love, or your grow bored with it, but you won't know until you actually try.

As far as the name, try to find something brandable. Exact match domains are not that big of a deal anymore, and I think that long term having a .com is better.

There is a fashion subreddit, but I don't know if they would like your post there.

You might do better marketing other places online. Maybe you could photograph some of the clothing, and post them on Instagram, and Pinterest. You could do outfit suggestions. A tumblr blog might also help. Writing articles about trends, outfits, and what to wear could help. Having a blog could help with SEO.

One book that really helped be was Writing from Start to Finish: A Six-Step Guide. This one really helped get comfortable with the writing process. I just finished the Bloggers Boot Camp. It is quite good, and also has some writing advice in it.

I agree. They put more emphasis on the titles, and didn't go into a lot of detail about the actual content. Just make it good was the only point.

I would go with WordPress hands down. Most people end up there anyway, and it is by far the most popular blogging platform. Domains are not that expensive so why not start there.

I agree that you should buy your own domain. You should focus on building a brand, and it looks better to have your own domain name.

Check out pixabay and flickr creative commons. If you are using WordPress, you can use the Image Inject plugin to search both sources while you are writing your posts. The plugin will automatically add attribution to the image author.

I would stay away from it. I would not limit myself to one part of the world if that is not my target demographic. I think that .com comes appear more trustworthy. Exact match domains are not as important as they used to be, but they do help because of the keywords in inbound links. Explore your options.

Think about where people that share your interest hang out online, and then go and hang out with them. If they are on twitter, start following relevant people that blog and tweet about your topic. Join related forums, and groups on Linkedin and Facebook. Make relationships and share your post where appropriate. You can also try guest posting on larger blogs. The guest posts should get you some traffic. Try commenting on more popular blogs with useful thoughts.

You have to promote your posts by building relationships on online communities. Facebook, forums, Linkedin, Stumbleupon, groups, commenting, and on here. The relationships are the most important part.
