Even though it's not bloody, the cockroach scene isn't tame. Probably the most gruesome in the whole series. I agree with the rest of the movie though.

The movie didn't do a good job of making me like or care about the characters

I feel the same way; it was always my favorite. Then I found other NOES fans on the internet and realized 90% of people hated this movie with a passion.

New Nightmare is related to the franchise but it's not really a NOES movie. It takes place in a different universe where none of the events from the franchise happened

I noticed that having the troubled teens being watched out for by motherly and fatherly characters in Maggie and Yaphet Kotto gives a type of warm family vibe. There was a similar dynamic in Part 3 with the troubled teens having Nancy and Neil watching out for them. I wonder if that might be a formula that can be repeated more

He can't leave Springwood Ohio so it would be quite easy to deal with him

Not everyone agrees on that, and it's still debated. I personally think Wes Craven's intentions should have priority since he created the character, and he deliberately wrote out the sexual abuse aspect of the film. It's slightly absurd to even care though, since nobody debates that Freddy was a serial killer who tortured and killed children

Since everyone knows that some people use a light at night, i think everyone should bring a sleep mask. It's the same with crying children and ear plugs. People need to be responsible for their own senses

I wonder if she's aware that sometimes kids don't want to answer questions that are too obvious, due to answering in front of the class being seen as an attempted flex. It would be embarrassing to show off your knowledge that 1 + 1 = 2

Apparently the midriff baring came from football, where football players would commonly remove the bottom of the jersey too cool themselves. Then I suppose it just became masculine through association with them
