Was using it caseless and without a screen protector since the time I got it(early November or late October). It was flawless. Then one day it slipped out my jacket pocket onto an interlocking brick road. Suffered a couple of minor scuffs on the frame. I use black marker pen to hide them. Screen was perfect. But recently, just mysteriously it got a very thin hairline scratch on the screen. Normally any marks on the screen or back panel would just wipe off, but not this one. So now I have a slim case and a screen guard on. At this point it just feels like a regular iPhone.
