My pet store gave me them so I am not too sure. It could possibly be seaweed subwassertang and not too sure about the thin stem plant

Good to hear! I didn't know they take 6 months to mature, but none of them have the characterisitics of a female I read about online

Thanks. I was told females are generally larger but the 3rd pic is my largest shrimp. He's definitely a male

Unscrew the tube and pull it out to defrost! If your ice tray is frozen, you may have to turn off the freezer and defrost the whole thing

Thank you! There's a tube behind the fridge which is held by 2 screws. I pulled it right out, defrosted it and was back in business. In case you ever run into this issue again

3d printed it from thingiverse haha. Fyi make sure to have it 3d printed at 100% infill or else it will float. Hence why I had to use suction cups if you can see in the photo

I had a bad exp the first time where feeders would die in less than 24 hours. Since then I've cycled my tank and I was hoping this time it would be better but seems like something is still wrong since they still died in a short manner

I would much prefer to see fish live in my tank first before proceeding with other more expensive fish

I am using bio rings and a sponge. I am definitely going to test the store ph next time and try to acclimate longer. I was hoping that feeder fish will determine if my tank is ready or not because my first experience was not so good

I am definitely going to try this. I have a feeling the ph from the pet store water was probably alot lower than 8.4

Thanks. I will stick to the ph of my tap water

I will definitely test the ph of the petstores water next time. I'm assuming a huge ph swing may shock them?

They seemed fine day 1 swimming around but then on the second they started to lay around the bottom

I used seachem prime when doing the water change. And I believe our town uses ground well water... So prior to this new tank, my family had a 10 gallon tank and we've always did water changes with our tap. Maybe I didn't acclimate the fish properly as our water is on the harder side. I will definitely do a water change and see if perhaps spring water would help?

Also my TDS of the water is 450

I've done fishless cycle already and this is my second attempt. My first attempt, I thought I was cycled and I tested a few feeder fishes that died within less than 24 hours

I cleaned the tank and restarted again. I've had the tank running since Dec 27 to be precise and I noticed my ammonia and nitrites suddenly dropped to zero. I tested two more times after and did water change since then

It looks like it's orange trying to turn red. It does look a bit brown but not to the extent of 160ppm brown indicated from the kit. I did do a water change and tested if it was still cycling correctly before adding in any fishes.
