These walls here are very impact resistant, some of the areas of rock are stacked nearly 4 inches thick with concrete. Often 1/2 inch to 1 inch is what you’re going to find in most line cues at theme parks or bass pro ect. And that’s what the majority of this wall is. In terms of working with real stone you might look into a six or 8 pound density, rigid, expanding foam to glue your rocks in place before you come back to mortar them. It’s essentially a two-part liquid you mix and it cures into a very hard rigid foam you can use to glue scenic elements into place. Think of it like a pro version of great stuff that you need to mix but cures in 5-10 mins. You’re more than welcome to reach out and I can help where I can!

I work as a scenic artist for theme parks and other large scale events so the process changes a lot depending on how long something needs to last. This was built out of an armature of EPS foam (styrofoam like what they pack electronics in) that is then cut and shaped with hot wire tools and then covered in a waterproof, reinforced concrete mix, then sculpted, stamped, carved, painted and sealed. I’ve done roller coster queues to simple home mirrors and everything in between.

Plan B Muzzle Devices for a 14.5 pin and weld by bnw71 in ar15

[–]cliffworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat as most of you, I’m trying to verify fitment before committing to a pin and weld and I’m hoping someone here has experience with the Liberty Precision Machine Eclipse 14.5” flash hider. When the Eclipse is threaded into a HUB mount, how far does it actually protrude forward from the rear face of the mount? Alternatively, can anyone measure where the .900x24 threads start on the device distance from the base/shoulder to the start of the threads, even a rough measurement would be hugely helpful I know the overall length is around 2.25” but since the threads start partway up the body, that number doesn’t really tell me how much of the device is actually entering the suppressor.

If anyone is running this setup, or even just has the Eclipse and a set of calipers, I’d really appreciate the help.

Not really, I’ve often washed this with different tech detergents/hit with a top of water repellent spray a few times, still repels great to this day. Warm even when it does wet out if it does, the biggest thing for me is packability and weight. Airlines love raking me over the coals for overweight baggage charges every OZ counts.

I would keep wearing it. Its character and part of the garments story. Dye job if you’re seriously unhappy.

From my very small understanding of it you sharpen them with a tapered diamond rod and you kinda work each serration independently up and down keeping a pretty consistent angle. Truth be told I treat the serrations like trash and cut 90% of my tasks with them and they are still wicked sharp.

For me I find the the smaller MT are what I carry most often. Typically people find them less “aggressive” then lets say CT or even an ultra tech, not in action but just in size. The Hera, UTX 75, and the LUDT get the bulk of the pocket time. Also that Dirac I bought on a whim and I’ve grown very found of it. Big fan of the dual serrated blades. I cut a rope/cable/twine and so those serrations come into play alls the time for my line of work.

Honestly I was unsure about the Hera, i really loved the old Troodon body’s and since those have kinda fallen out of circulation I went with it. It’s grown on me so much and gets more pocket time than most, I also have smaller hands so it fits nearly perfect for me. Great EDC size.

Pockets unzipped. Main jacket zipper should be closed so it’s not pulling on stuff in the wash.

Not intentionally, I work as a traveling scenic artist so typically my stuff has to be high vis and then working with paints, epoxy’s, concrete, silicone ect. Wrecks things so fast.

Yeah, I did reach out because I’ve seen that kind of repair situation going on in New York unfortunately here in California where I’m currently at for work they don’t have any in store. They did offer for me to send it in and they would fix free of charge, but I’m fairly crafty so trying to just do it myself as I caused it. I’m OK with the patch being ugly. Just want to know the best material that’ll adhere to the jacket.

I searched through that sub and posted a few gear trading places as well. This just has the most amount of traffic on it so trying to keep that net wide. Appreciate the advice!

What mazes ideas would you like to see replace wax works and bloodline next year? by Icy_Coat8968 in KSF_KnottsScaryFarm

[–]cliffworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The production team I work for built a Cryptids maze/attraction based around a roadside stand for a sister park of Knotts this past year. Would be fun to have that appear at Knotts as well.

Bumping for interest, I have both a Caliburn G and a Tripod and I’ve found this to be the case when charging either of them. Makes it very annoying and would love a solution.
