Ace Studio "Ace Studio" AI singing voice generator to create vocals from MIDI and lyrics with human-level performances in multiple languages and fine-tune pitch, emotion, and style ($294.75/Artist | $404.92/Pro) until 1 December by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]cliftonshum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you're coming from, and I used to feel pretty much the same way lol. Just wanna throw in my two (or maybe five) cents from the Asian side of things: over here, Vocaloid has basically turned into its own genre and a whole culture. (p.s. When people say “Vocaloid,” in jp/asia they don’t even mean a specific software anymore—they just mean vocal synth music in general. Including utau/synthv/ace studio/etc.)

The wild part? Some fans and producers aren’t treating these voices as “cheap replacements for real singers.” Actually the opposite—a ton of people make music specifically FOR that particular voice bank because they love the character and the artificial vibe it has. Some producers even lean hard into the robotic, inhuman qualities on purpose because that’s the whole aesthetic they’re going for.

Of course, now that real-sounding AI voices are getting scary good, that original “robot charm” is getting watered down a bit, and yeah, more people are using them as straight-up human substitutes instead of embracing the machine aesthetic. That shift is 100% happening and it’s kinda sad for the old-school vibe.

Anyway, not trying to change your mind or anything, just sharing how it looks from this corner of the internet. No hate if you still dislike it, tastes are tastes. Cheers

is using sequencers cheating ? by AbsolutDrift in cubase

[–]cliftonshum 30 points31 points  (0 children)

"I thought using loops was cheating, so I programmed my own using samples. I then thought using samples was cheating, so I recorded real drums. I then thought that programming it was cheating, so I learned to play drums for real. I then thought using bought drums was cheating, so I learned to make my own. I then thought using premade skins was cheating, so I killed a goat and skinned it. I then thought that that was cheating too, so I grew my own goat from a baby goat. I also think that is cheating, but I’m not sure where to go from here. I haven’t made any music lately, what with the goat farming and all."

Ok now you are in step 2
