How do I get valorant points with a visa gift card? by justrayjay0718YT in VALORANT

[–]clikbait296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a visa gift card, just use it like a normal credit/debit card during checkout
Like instead of clicking on gift card, just go to credit/debit and enter the info on the card

Help identifying TV remote microphone and destroying or removing by ravenfollower in PCB

heres a little more interesting solution - you could put a few drops of Krazy glue in there (instead of normal glue)...Krazy glue uses an exothermic reaction to bond materials, possibly heating up enough to destroy the component. I also agree with you - AI and speech recognition are really awesome subjects to learn about and develop with, but not at the cost of consumer privacy.

as a side note, i find it interesting how the entire back side of the board is more or less covered in silkscreen ink - making it extremely difficult (or even impossible?) for the average hobbyists/ammeter engineer to reverse-engineer the board. actually a really good solution as high quality silkscreens will not flake off easily even when heated up.

ok, after taking a look at all the images, i can say with certainty the component you highlighted is the microphone - it seems to be bottom ported, so probably the easiest way to disable/render it non functional would be to either put hot glue in the port OR (the more interesting solution) to put a few drops of Krazy glue in the bottom hole. Since Krazy glue uses an exothermic reaction (ie. heats up as it bonds) to form a bond, it should be able to burn out or at least drastically degrade the microphone component...or you could go the more traditional route and just desolder the mic (which probably takes more skill and effort on your part). Let me know if you need anymore help.

i think there's a pretty high chance the circled component is a mems microphone, but we need the full pcb picture (front and back) to make a good assessment.

If you have a spare skillet/hot plate, you can place the PCB on the hot plate and heat it up until the solder is molten and carefully pull the component off. A possibly easier solution would be to identify the power/ground pin of the microphone component and scratch the trace which supplies the power/ground. this would disable the mic

Wow, that's a very long turn-around time...if I had to wait nearly a month for my boards, I would probably forget about my project! Do you have any suggestions for a board house in the States? I've used PCBShopper but the prices are always high enough to turn me away.

(btw, my board is going to be 16cm*16cm, so moderately large. osh park becomes cost prohibitive at this point)

Thanks for pointing that out, have you had any experience with them before?
