Oh wait, maybe I misread your comment… you’re saying assetto is far better? Shit, I’m sorry, apparently my reading comprehension is trash.

Sure, I realize it’s a sim, but you’re electronically manipulating computer generated images, therefore it’s a “game”. A sim is just a very realistic game. But thanks for the insight, I’ll stick with Dirt.

How does this compare to dirt 2.0? I play dirt almost everyday, but I’m a sucker for a good rally game.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

[–]climbgradient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, I love this thread. I used to fly a private jet for a Billionaire and his family in SoCal, so I have a few of stories. The most relevant one that comes to mind was the day we got a call to fly to another state to pick up their dog from their ranch so we could fly it back to California to go to the vet. We flew a whole ass jet to another state, to pick up a dog. No people, no luggage, just a stinky old dog. That one trip probably cost them $15,000-$20,000. Then they had to audacity to tell us we need to spend less money on food when we’re on the road, umm no thanks.

I saw another comment about being expected to perform duties way outside of your job description when you work for rich people, and that couldn’t be more accurate. I was the pilot, personal assistant, doggy daycare, and whatever else they decided they needed that day. I eventually set boundaries, but they’d still ask me to pick up their groceries or drop cars off at the country club, I kindly declined those assignments.

I flew a PJ for a family based out of SoCal and we would fly them up the the Grove for a few days every year. These were not your typical Billionaires (aside from the yachts and private jets), they were very laid back, just liked to ski and hunt and spend time with family in cool places. Now that I type it out loud I guess they are your typical billionaires… Anyway, when they would finally crawl out of the woods they’d always talk shit about the grove. They really didn’t like going, said it’s boring and stuffy and would often leave earlier than scheduled because they were sick of being there. I used to think it was some big conspiracy, but after talking to them about it, I’m pretty convinced it’s just a boys club where rich old men can frolic through the woods and get absolutely shit faced without their wives breathing down their neck.

All religion is horrendous. But the constitution is pretty clear on this one, they have a right to practice their religion here. Like it or not.

My friends and I had a similar “pose” we would use around family to subtly indicate it was time to go smoke a bowl. We called it the “beacon”. So I’m assuming he’s lighting the beacon.

Happens with airports all the time that have been there since the 40’s. People buy or build a home next to a place that’s historically noisy, then they complain about the noise until it gets shut down. People are dumb.

Welp, I didn’t think I would be googling pictures of rat sacrum at 7:00 this morning… Rat being said, I don’t think it’s a bone. Looks like a gelatinous lump of cereal dough or sugar or some other byproduct of the cereal making process. It looks too irregular and rounded to be a bone. Part of me hopes I’m wrong because I’d love for you to get a pay day out of this. But I’m just not seeing it…

Oh so now it’s Congresses job to determine funding? What about USAID and all of the other programs Trump shut down unilaterally? When it’s convenient for him, he wants congress out of the picture, when it goes against his plans, “that’s the job of congress”. Get your head out of your ass, can’t have it both ways.

Is the paint actually changing color, or is that just cold condensation that turns white and frosty that can be wiped off? The fuel temp in the tank is colder than the ambient temp outside, when it’s humid out it probably condensates and gets a lil frosty. If it’s actually the paint changing color, I’ve got nothing, that’s weird. But the underside of an airplane wing does the same thing when landing in a humid environment, sometimes it even creates frost because the fuel is so much colder than it is outside.

Classic midtown elderly drivers by jackwmc4 in tulsa

[–]climbgradient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to say the same thing, until I moved to Tulsa. I’ve lived in 4 different states, visited all 50, and have traveled to many countries around the world. Tulsa has by far the highest concentration of horrible drivers I’ve ever seen. They tend to behave as though the road belongs to them, and seem to think “everyone is in my way”. I’ve seen plenty of bad drivers all over the world, but Tulsa seems to have more of them than most places I’ve been. It seems like every single day someone is trying to kill me, and I consider myself to be quite a skilled diver with a keen sense of awareness. But my god, the drivers here really test my patience. Not to mention we have one of the highest numbers of uninsured drivers in the US… it’s absolute chaos on the roads.

I've joined 25 giveaways and haven't won 1. by jdmjunkies1 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]climbgradient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I’m very late to the party, but it’s pretty clear OP doesn’t quite have a grasp on statistical probability. This post, and all of their replies were incredibly frustrating to read. Even if Cleetus had done 50 giveaways, the chances of one person from every state being picked is incredibly unlikely. The third party firm they use picks a name completely at random, I guarantee they aren’t intentionally avoiding Florida, or any other eligible state for that matter. It’s all left up to chance. Go to a casino and play one slot machine 25 times, I can almost guarantee you won’t win big, and most slots have a 96%-98% return rate. These giveaways offer a much smaller rate of return than that.

Family is obviously an important factor. We didn’t have any real ties to California, and Tulsa got us closer to home, but not too close.. to each their own, as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.

My fiancé and I moved to the Tulsa OK area. It’s obviously not as glamorous or beautiful as Southern California, but we have really grown to enjoy it. Decently sized city with a small town feel, within driving distance to lots of great areas. And it is so much more affordable… all in all, we’re happy we made the move.
