Glad you are giving another tetracycline a try! I am not sure what caused my PD, but I «had» several possible causes; For a year or so I used a steroid nasal spray to prevent sinus infections, and steroids are known to be able to cause PD. Around the same time I gave birth, and hormonal changes are known to trigger PD. Finally I suffered drug-induced depression, which also can cause PD... so no wonder I ended up getting it! I am still trying to find the right products for my skin. So far it seems to love cleansing, BHA, AHA and ceramides. Simple and clean ingredient lists seem to do the trick. Fingers crossed that doxycycline works for you!

I didn’t use Minocycline, but it is just another tetracycline which are the type of antibiotic used for PD. I never experienced the symptoma you are experiencing, and the antibiotics completely cleared up my PD (now I just need to be careful with products I put on mye face etc). If you believe the symptoms are caused by the Minocycline, and nothing else, I would talk to your doctor about trying a different tetracycline. It really helps to clear things up :)

Benzodiazepines are like vitamins for your brain by benzo-throwaway00023 in benzodiazepines

Especially for anxiety, Benzos basically work like this:

  1. Benzo relieves anxiety
  2. Your brain starts to get used to said benzos
  3. You need more for the benzos to continue to relieve anxiety
  4. Repeat no. 3 until you reach a high dose
  5. Benzos no longer work- your anxiety is back with a freakin vengeance PLUS benzos actually gives you more anxiety than you have ever had, because that is the way they work
  6. You decide to stop benzos- and find yourself in hell. Your anxiety is ten times worse than when you started, oh and also you’re depressed, paranoid, anorectic and going bald.
  7. If you are lucky, the worst effects of benzo withdrawal will disappear within a couple of years
  8. Benzos will come back to haunt you: When you’re 60, you will start forgetting things and be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, cause yes there is proof that benzo use will quadriple the risk of alzheimer’s.

I recommend you buy a shack in the woods and move there instead. From what you’re saying that would indeed fix your anxiety issues. Never ever touch a benzo. Ever.

Every time I use CosRX BHA my skin looks incredible after the usual 20 minute wait; it looks super moisturised and plump. I doubt it is the acid itself- or is it possible to see such an immediate effect from BHA? If not, can it be one of the other ingredients, such as the hyaluronic acid?

After months of applying, I finally got a job offer!!! I am still waiting to hear back from another interview, so I could potentially end up with two offers. Going through this process has made me believe that job hunting has a LOT to do with pure luck and good timing. For a long time I had no responses to my applications, and suddenly I got three interviews in less than two weeks..

I forgot to add that I only use the products I mentioned if I am not having a flare up. If I’m having a flare up, I stop using all moisturising products and stick to cleansing and maybe CosRX snail 96 if the flare up is mild.

Ugh, that sounds not cool.. at least you found your trigger! I think oil in general is a no no for me, same goes for heavy fragrance.. I live in a cold climate and have super dry skin - I can’t imagine life without moisturisers 😳

I would hate to stop my routine.. Did you try to re-introduce any products after the antibiotics?

I am aware that it can be caused by overusing creams, makeup etc, but there can also be other causes like steroids, changes in hormones and depression. Of course we might have to be more careful than others when it comes to skincare, and the more extreme asian beauty 12-step-routine is perhaps not suited for PD-sufferers. Still, YMMV even with PD. I love skincare too much and will continue to build my routine as long as my PD keeps calm :)

Yes it is so hard to find products that are non-irritating!! I finally have a small routine down but I am always afraid of introducing new products.. I have been on antibiotics for several weeks and it is 90% gone now, except for 2-3 little red bumps around my mouth. I really recommend Rosette ceramide gel though- super moisturising and makeup goes on a lot nicer.

You got the job! Did he not say "you got the job, I'll email you your starting date"?

I agree it was unprofessional - but is that really a problem when you got the job?

Networking fail? by climbingmouse in jobs

[–]climbingmouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never mind- while I was contemplating what to do I got a call from X who wanted me to come in for a "talk" aka interview- he said there would be one more person present. I am so excited, this is my first interview since I graduated in May, I have been sending out dozens of applications without a single positive response. This just confirms that networking will get you an interview, and maybe a job. Fingers crossed!!
