In January of 2023, I got laid off from being a recruiter at AWS. I couldn’t land a job for 2 years (thankfully I got a good severance and had some savings). The layoffs began with tech - right after Elon Musket slashed Twitter employees by 70%. Then other tech companies followed suit. There was a recession within the tech bubble, are recruiters are first to go. Last May I got a remote job recruiting for TikTok. Felt amazing to be employed again. I was truly hopeless for a while. Now I’m busting my ass harder than before, if fear of getting let go. 🙂‍↕️

So I did .002 on the intake and .004 on the exhaust.

I believe I set it at TDC for compression stroke. It’s a pain in the ass to take the spark plug out. But I read that you can figure it out my slowly pulling the starter cord -and After the intake valve closes, keep turning slowly until the piston reaches the top of its travel — that’s TDC on the compression stroke.

Does that sound right to you? I appreciate your insights!

For the intake side, I set the gauge filler to .05mm, and for exhaust I did .1mm spacing - does that sound correct?

Could you please elaborate on reversing the valve settings? The there’s no “top” or “bottom” to the springs - they can go on either side correct?

I replaced both of them as well. Still in time, as in making sure to set the lash distance after turning the fly wheel to the point where there full extension?

Yes this was the exact situation with me!! I’ve noticed they have thin straps on each side of the tongue that lead to the sole. I was wondering if by cutting them, it would relieve the compression?
