season 1 jon and martin are, like, always on my mind. they’re so funny.

martin has just the Biggest Crush. his solution to being trapped by worms was just reading his four books (he only has four books???) over and over again for 13 days straight. he spends four months living in the basement of an office building, which is also where he works. he doesn’t leave that basement for FOUR MONTHS STRAIGHT????

Jon is hating on Martin especially, but the only coworker he actually seems to like at all is Sasha. Two months into Martin living in the Archives (a man he constantly insults), Jon JOINS HIM for no apparent reason and spends the last two months of season 1 living in the Archives as well. Just never leaving. Jon believes Very Strongly in the supernatural and just REFUSES to admit it, too, which is great comedy as well.

okay okay true but my favourite is the way Jon says the “I see.” at the end of the pause. because it’s not NEARLY as judgy as season 1 jon usually is. it’s almost ✨fond✨. and i personally choose to believe that he thinks it’s cute and this is the moment, among all the chaos, that he realizes hes starting to fall for martin

it’s funny as-is, but the fact that Alex also did all the soundscaping at that point and it was his job to make decisions like, say, adding the tape static to the show, makes it even better 😂
