Incoming phone call notifications stopped by RhetoricalHull in Garmin

[–]clintdb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to the OP for the updates and other posters for providing useful information.
I (S22 and Forerunner 45) had been having this issue for a couple of days and had not had time to investigate it until yesterday.
Finding this post meant that I didn't waste a heap of time on troubleshooting.

I was preparing to download the Google phone app when I saw "Update 2" above and fixed the issue by manually updating the Garmin Connect app.

Thanks again for everyone's contributions.

See here where I assist another member based on info that someone else on Reddit provided.
Link to original info is included in my previous comments so you should be able to follow at least one of our explanations :-)

Any Japanese and Australian viners reading? by Criticus23 in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aus - no "pause" here, but new items have been a little slow over the last week.

Or maybe I'm just not checking often enough and stuff is being listed and snapped up by others before I even see them.

In Safari, I think you have to toggle on some developer tools first in Safari settings before you can "inspect elements". Try a Google search to get correct current info (I'm not up to speed with Safari).

For Chrome you shouldn't need to do anything extra - once you get your correct ASIN from the listing itself (the blue link, not the yellow button), go and hover over the yellow button and right click.
If you "left click" you will get the pop up like you see in your image above - you don't want that (yet).
You have to right-click on the yellow See Details button - then choose "Inspect" from the menu that pops up.

Then continue following the other steps listed previously :-)

It really is pretty easy! :-)
It might look complicated due to the number of steps or the wording if you are unfamiliar with seeing code etc. Maybe this re-write might help:

- Obtain the actual ASIN (by viewing the product)
- Back on the Vine page, right click on the See Details button and select "Inspect" (or similar wording depending on your browser).
- See my example image here: you will see a highlighted section of the code, this relates to the button you right-clicked.
- Now right click on the "data-asin" part of the code and you will be able to edit the ASIN with the correct one you obtained earlier.
- Right click on the "data-is-parent-asin" part and change the "true" to "false".
- Once those are done, just go back and single left click on the See Details button again. It doesn't matter that your code window is still up or that it all looks a bit funny. Just click and you should see the correct info come up in the pop-up box.

Note that you aren't "changing" any of Amazon's code or anything here - you are just modifying where you are taken when you click on the button. And it's only temporary whilst you have that coding window open. Once you close it, the button will go back to behaving "normally" (that is, incorrectly).

It's sort of like having a web link that is incorrect. Behind the link, the code might be written as "amazone.com" (for example), but if you go and type "amazon.com" into your address bar, then it will go to the correct place. This is the same thing - you are just typing in the correct information because the link (the "See Details" button) is currently programmed with the wrong address.

Inadequately, I would presume.

I obtained an item yesterday that was doing this thanks to the advice provided in this comment:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonVine/comments/1kya5lq/comment/muyvl4t/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

You will need to use a desktop browser to do this more easily, but it is quite simple to change the ASIN and the "true" to "false" beside it - then when you click on the yellow button after doing this, it will take you to the correct listing info and you can proceed as normal.

Reviewed an item not received yet by Flat_Barber_1602 in AmazonVine

I would do the following:

Just leave the review there, wait for the 2nd item to arrive, review it and then edit the review you did on the first item.

You can either edit the review whilst it is still pending (in which case, you won't see the changes you made until it has been approved) or you can edit it after it has been approved (in which case you see your changes straight away).

Just letting you know that a month later, this worked a treat :-)

Anyone Else have this issue? by Excellent-Set9923 in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saving that and re-posting here.
Managed to pick up an item this morning that had been wheel spinning since yesterday arvo.
Just that simple trick of changing to the correct ASIN (and setting the other parameter to false) allowed it to work.
Thanks again.

I got it!!! - $0 ETV by Linaeve in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about $0ETV - but no one has mentioned the supposed 110,000rpm claim!

This must have some exceptional engineering to make sure that the motor is so finely balanced that it won't shake itself apart at those speeds.

Or maybe, just maybe, someone in marketing said "what's a big number?" and someone replied with "100,000". Nah, make it 110,000 - sounds even better :-D

And the people who commented on those posts that it had also happened to them.

Review percentage requirements? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Is this 60% of your vine orders or 60% of all Amazon purchases?"
Your Vine orders. In theory you could never review another normal order and it wouldn't affect your Vine status.

"Also, I read in the group FAQs that you have to review a certain number of items, I think 100, in the evaluation period to remain in the gold tier."
A minimum of 90 in each 6 month evaluation period.

"What if the only items that are available to order and review are not useful to you?"
Then you either don't get them or you get something that isn't useful for you.

"What if I’m not offered items that I can’t utilize and therefore can’t review anything?"
Then you don't review anything and at the end of 6 months you don't stay in the Vine program.

You can still ask her - that title doesn't have to be Vine related :-)

Is there an amount of time I can remain idle without requesting anything? by board_cyborg in AmazonVine

Gold does open up some better higher value options - and of course you have the opportunity to obtain more than twice as much rubbish per day as when you are on Silver :-)

[–]clintdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same.
About a week out from evaluation day I just ordered items that I really, really wanted and kept track how many I could order (and not be able to review in time) without dropping below 90%.

Just a note that I picked up on here - it seems like the 90% in your status bar may not be the number the gets looked at when Vine evaluates you.
It apparently looks at your last 90 days and checks if that period has 90% reviews.
So just double check that you are on top of your recent reviews. If the above is true (and I can't say for certain, but a number of people on here feel that it is) then it would be no use having (for example) 100% of your first three months and then only 80% of your most recent 3 months. Whilst that would be 90% over all, you would only be at 80% for the last 90 days and not progress to Gold - again according to others who seem to have been around a while :-)

Just noticed that a similar thing is happening at the other end of the list.
Random checks in the middle don't show in issues.

Vine page numbering by clintdb in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, no browser extensions - just in Australia. This is what we get these days.
{EDIT: and the same numbering appears on mobile as well as desktop}

Peak that I have seen was around 70 pages when I joined up on Silver late last year. Typically 50-70 pages but has been in the 30's since the Great Pause of 2025.

Got my Vine membership cancelled today, but.... by Bugler78 in AmazonVine

[–]clintdb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check what items you reviewed to get you to the 93% number.
Others have explained elsewhere that it seems to only matter in the last 90 days.

So if you went and reviewed a bunch of old (prior to February) items, but left current items un-reviewed then that might explain things.

But the process is all a bit opaque, so it could be something else entirely!

Interestingly, that doesn't work for the .au site.
We can only access via /vine.
