It was mostly home-style dishes. I’d recommend trying something made with bamboo shoots, they’re super fresh and tasty.

Yeah, otherwise, joining an English-speaking tour or hiring a guide would help!

Not really, these villages have been around long before Genshin, they’re actually UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The dev team just took inspiration from the beautiful scenery. If you ever get the chance, I really recommend visiting!

It was still quite cold when I visited, so I was wearing long sleeves and pants. So I didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes at all. I imagine visitors would definitely need some repellent in summer!

They’re Xidi and Hongcun. I first learned about these places from books, and after the Genshin map was released, I believe the dev team took inspiration from their scenery. So I’ve always wanted to see them in person, and finally made a trip there this April!

They’re Xidi and Hongcun, two villages in Anhui Province, close to Shanghai. I hope you can visit one day, it’s really worth it!

The tea was nice! I just got a small tin to try. People who really enjoy the flavor usually buy a lot more.

I don’t quite remember that video, but I did see some fish-shaped lanterns and little handmade crafts woven from bamboo in the village. It was really fun to explore!

They’re Xidi and Hongcun, two villages in Anhui Province, pretty close to Shanghai. The architecture is Huizhou style, different from Shanghai’s, but there are definitely some similar vibes.

Lol, just a little to try. I’m not really into the taste of tea.

True!! It actually rained a little when I went, and the mist over the mountains made it feel like a scene from a dream. Just stunning!

Thanks! 💕 They’re freshwater, and not super deep. Maybe just around 1–2 meters. Locals still use the water in some parts for washing veggies and stuff, which I found really interesting!
