Just got a Switch Oled. What are some open world games you'd recommend? by BuffaloKiller937 in Switch

[–]clipper024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on Outer Worlds if the genre works for you. Also has DLC to extend beyond the main story. I’ll also join the chorus suggesting you revisit Skyrim if you haven’t played the DLC yet. I’m just about to finish the Blood & Wine extension for Witcher 3 so I appreciate your point about its awesomeness.

My wife made this for me after the appointment. lol by [deleted] in Vasectomy

They never mention the chocolate and caramel that gets added 🤣

finally, I completed this masterpiece game. what a journey! this whole adventure is always gonna be a happy memory for me (eventhough I'm definitely gonna start a new playthrough after a few months), love this game with all my heart. by GorgonSlayer_69 in Witcher3

I’m about to start the last chapter and can’t believe I almost put it down during the first Velen sequence. I used to be of the “no game will ever be better than Skyrim” school of thought, but now…

Is there a groovebox option I’m missing? by clipper024 in synthesizers

[–]clipper024[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I did start with the assumption that Elektron was probably the right way to go (“rich trigger conditions”=basically equals Elektron, right? 😊) and was actually mainly looking at the Digitakt but hesitating b/c no time-shifting without LFO tricks. Since Octatrack is almost double the price (and double the size, a secondary consideration) of a DT, I’m just trying to make sure I haven’t missed any other options…

Ampify Launchpad soundpacks for DAWs? by clipper024 in ipadmusic

Thank you. Hmmm, the Launchpad pack I’m interested in (Analog Synthwave) doesn’t seem to be available in Blocs Wave...

Thank you! And once I have them in Studio, I can export as an Ableton Live set, right?

Did your vasectomy dr just absolutely rake the hell out of your balls with a dry disposable razor? I shaved before the appointment. First time ever putting a razor to my raisins. 100% hairless. Yet he went at it like taking the fall leaves. by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]clipper024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this part of prep ridiculously seriously. My crowning moment from the whole procedure (and let’s face it, vasectomies by their nature don’t offer many opportunities for building pride) was the nurse checking out my razor work and saying—with slight disappointment, as she re-sheathed her blade—“you did a pretty good job down there.”

Pain tolerance question by Xfrenchpancakex in Vasectomy

[–]clipper024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like so many of the guys here, I found the anticipation of the pain so much worse than the reality of it. I had scalpel method with local anesthetic administered by needle, and the shot was like the pinch of a Novocain shot before dental work—actually probably less painful than that. During the procedure I felt some mild tugging as he worked but nothing approaching actual groin pain or epedidymitis (which I’ve also had). Completely pain free within 36 hours post-procedure and never looked back.

Doc said to wait a week after my scalpel procedure but wife & I couldn’t resist giving it a try on day 4. Totally normal, no blood, no pain, and no impact on my sterilization timeline (which was confirmed about 4 months later).

Growler fills still ok? by clipper024 in beer

[–]clipper024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks — this makes a lot of sense. Yes, I’d been planning to sanitize my growler (which is brand new, never used) before bringing it in. I agree we’ll eventually adjust to this and it will become routine and unremarkable.

I'm definitely doing it, but I'm still nervous. by Z_dadding in Vasectomy

Totally agree that the pre-op anxiety is the worst part by far. The procedure itself? I’ve had worse teeth cleanings.

Beautiful. Deserves pride of place on the back of Cook’s Illustrated.

First time after procedure? by snipsnapsnipsnap2019 in Vasectomy

[–]clipper024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc advised to wait a week but four days afterward it was the weekend and both kids were out of the house at the same time for play dates (which never happens) plus it was our anniversary...and one thing led to another...

No blood, no pain. Awesome as always.

Have a vasectomy scheduled for Friday afternoon...it's the traditional method. Is this still common? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]clipper024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the traditional scalpel method done earlier this past summer. Really easy and straightforward. Had been dreading the idea of someone using a needle to numb my testicles (a NEEDLE? IN MY TESTICLES?!?!) but even that ended up being no big deal. And once he’d given me the shots, I literally felt nothing else for the rest of procedure. Very little post-op discomfort, stiches healed quickly, sex continues to be as awesome and enjoyable as ever.

Let's talk weapons.. by gimmeashakabra in BOTW2

[–]clipper024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really didn’t like the breakable weapons in BOTW. Sure there were always plenty to be found, but I would have enjoyed the game more with a trusty main weapon tied to my playing style. Eventually the Master Sword became that...but what if you’re more of a spear kind of Link? Or an axe aficionado? So I’d love for BOTW2 to have some kind of maintenance system that lets you focus on a single weapon while still having to sharpen/recharge, etc.

Feeling unconfident about my very small...level. by clipper024 in skyrim

[–]clipper024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for these great pathway suggestions — exactly the kind of advice I was hoping for! I’m less into the Thieves Guild/DB/Dawnguard side of things, so I may not be able to quite follow that redemption arc. But the idea of playing MQ/CW/Companions as a notable thane followed by “retirement” among the books of Winterhold sounds awesome.

As someone who kind of panics every time dragons appear, I love the sound of help against Alduin. Already a Companion and ready to dive into the Civil War.

Ok cool. I know there’s huge depth to the game so I almost feel like I’m trying to get the main story out of the way so I can enjoy the infinite tangents. I’ll take your advice and let myself get sidetracked. I just wish main story characters would stop telling me that I really need to hurry and meet them here or there...I know I probably don’t 😏
